They had one ship that we saw.
One thing that was kind of neat was that Spacedock had some real teeth. It’s a dock and a fortress, apparently.
The Enterprise-G is the first new Enterprise that's physically smaller than her predecessor in length, since, well, ever. The 1701 Refit and the 1701-A were the same size and all before and since were physically longer or had more mass or both.
You're right. But from what I recall they were just monitoring that conduit not really "guarding" it. Again, if the borg are back and have successfully taken control of Starfleet it doesn't make sense that they wouldn't try to contact other borg that requested to join the federation less than a year ago. One of the writers said originally the Bad borg were going to emerge from that conduit and kill the Jurati borg ship. I mean that would have made sense but not at least attempting to contact them for help or having a character say why they weren't available really doesn't.
And while they didn’t show it, I could see them flying the D around for a year while they take the fleet apart, purging all the borg code and automatic systems that they had installed, plus repairing all the damage that the ships had from battling space dock and the Titan.
The Enterprise was getting pretty chunky, so it had to go on a diet.
Which despite people decrying that things are just more of the same...

However..what you've said isn't completely correct.
The Enterprise-E is only longer than the Enterprise-D. The Enterprise-D is a much larger ship in terms of width, mass, capacity and volume.
And if the Enterprise-J is still in the future in any form even partially resembling what she looked like in ENT then they do need to have at least one in the lineage that doesn't look like it's trying to one-up its predecessor in an eating contest.
We've been fat-shaming it since the first episode.
Welp, this is imo a case of the Journey being better than the Destination.

Ok, it wasn't all that bad.
Loved all the legacy character beats, storyline wrap ups and peeks at the future, (glad the pregnant guppy isn't the Enterprise anymore) but all the Jack/Borg/Queen/Earth/Universe Ending resolutions left me rolling my eyes. So many silly expositions of zero substance. The kwel E-D flying through the Borg cube scenes felt like I'd seen it before somewhere.
Massive last minute magical pixie dust resolutions to everything.
Not bitter, that's Trek. It was a killer season otherwise. Generous 7.
Onto what's next!

ETA So I watched E10 again and it was like a totally different experience, I was wondering if it were a different episode. All the crap that was popping out at me the first time had seemingly vanished!
While I stand by my premier view rating of 7, cause that felt right at the time. I will give it a follow up view rating of 9.5.

Yeah. The question for me is, when the Queen basically accuses the Federation of genociding the Borg -- is she correct? Did the vast majority of drones die? Or were most of them liberated from the Collective's control? Is there a huge diaspora out there of XBs? If so, that would go a long way towards explaining why prejudice against XBs was a meaningfully large phenomenon in PIC S1. Maybe the Alpha Quadrant has spent the last 23 years absorbing wave after wave of XB refugees post-"Endgame."
I suppose time was of the essence and Picard felt the Jurati Cooperative was too far away.
Personally, I think it would have made for a stronger episode if there had been a "Han Solo saves Luke" moment by having Jurati and the Romulans appear just when the Titan seems like it's about to be destroyed to save them. It would have tied in better with S1 and S2 -- the Romulans refusing to turn their backs on the Federation as the Federation did to them, and the Jurati Queen proving that her Cooperative are based on consent and benevolence rather than tyranny. And both of them inspired by the leadership of Jean-Luc Picard.
Captain Hansen sounds better. Shaw was right about that

Anyway, if I were the writers I would call her Captain Nine rather than Captain Seven, but it's not a big deal either way.
