I'm a big Borg fan but I feel that they have ended the series on a cop-out! I thought it was quite a clever tactic to have the Changelings come back and have them in a series where they hadn't appeared before and that we might see some of the older DS9 characters return like Odo, Sisko, the Founders and even the Jem 'Hadar themselves too! But they have sort of used the easy way out and just brought the Borg back to end the series. clever storyline i'll admit but somehow it seems a bit lopsided after all that...:borg:

I can't wait to hear hot takes! I have the day off from work... But I also got up super-early today, even though I didn't have to. My body was like, "You're awake! Get out of bed!" I'm kind of hating my body for that right now. So there's no way I'll be able to watch this right when it drops overnight.

This season was always meant as a sendoff for the TNG crew, a final, proper fitting fairwell to "old friends".

This wasn't a DS9 conclusion..and unfortunately as long as Avery Brooks is ..who he is...I don't think we'll get a proper and final resolution for DS9 also. With Rene gone I'm not sure the heart will be there. This TNG sendoff worked because the entire original cast is still with us and healthy enough to act.

I'm not sure what DS9 would be like without Odo.

That's true yes. The idea of TNG fighting a DS9 baddie was akin to Batman fighting Lex Luthor or Spider-Man taking on DareDevil's The Owl! I know that off screen the Enterprise did confront the Jem 'Hadar fleet which was the basis of a set of four novels which I have somewhere but never read.
Thank God Picard didn't battle the Kazon instead!

DS9 send off/reunion will not happen:

Sisko: Avery Brooks is not interested
Kira: Visitor did some LD stuff
Odo: Rene has passed, sadly
J. Dax: character killed
O'Brien: available, but really TNG
Worf: ditto
Bashir: available
E. Dax: available, I think
Quark: did some LD
Rom: available
Jake: available
Nog: Aron has sadly passed

Best case: Kira, O'Brien, Bashir, Ezri, Quark, Rom, Jake, & Worf. Other that what happens to Sisko, isn't everyone else pretty set?

The only way we'll ever gat a DS-9 sendoff is if some Producer/Director is an avid fan of the show and manages somehow to convince Kurtzman to talk Paramount/CBS into putting up the money to do it.

My guess is that the odds of that happening is nil to zip.

Perhaps as a long shot They might consider doing a movie of the week type thing, but I wouldn't hold my breath waiting for that announcement.

I hope all the actors get a screen credit and a check, but I suspect none of it will be satisfying.

Anything known about how long the episode will be?

Hoping for at least 90 minutes (like a two parter from TNG, DS9, Voyager or ENT)

Fifty-seven minutes of technobabble by Picard's lackeys, two minutes of phasers and explosions, and one minute for the crew to smile from the bridge as the ship coasts to the stars.

Or I could just watch the episode...

Post-credits scene: Stasis chamber on Daystrom Station opening, with James T. Kirk walking out looking bewildered.
