Weeeeeeeeeell... I see the tradition of Trek two-parters having a weaker second half has been upheld.

It was fine. Perfectly fine. Seeing the Enterprise-D kick ass again was great, as was CGI finally giving it the capabilities we always knew it had but never previously got to see. Watching her slam to a stop just above Picard's head to beam him out in the nick of time was cool. The cameos were fun. Though part of me was left thinking... perhaps it could have been slightly more somehow? Still, a nice, positive, open ending, albeit a surprisingly low-key one in a lot of ways, with some wonderful callbacks.

The "cor blimey, I'm such a cheeky chappie me" Jack business and the Titan-A becoming the Enterprise-G can both fuck RIGHT off though.

Warp Drive, Transporters, Artificial Gravity & all of the Aliens are rediculous when you think about it for more than a second, why are you watching it?

Shit, nothing post Generations should even exist, they should have just changed shield frequency, trashed the BOP & then sent down an armed team to mess Soren up.
Soren was messed up by her own people.

Could someone please post a good, hish-res screencap of a certain new starship?
The antenna cube?

Worf saying swords are fun is a different take. He said it more slowly in imax.
I'm also sure the premiere showed a different take of "Because he is my son!"

Filling in the gaps again. Jesus wept.
Jesus paid attention last week.

I knew he'd be back! Death is such a linear concept.
Why even tell everyone he's dying then? XD

So much for the Titan, we barely knew her.
...it's the same ship

The Chekov thing was nice. He must have had that kid very late in life.

Yeah, he was already 48 by GEN and if President Chekov is anywhere close to Walter Koenig's real world age then he wouldn't have been born until Pavel was about 80 himself.

It was nice seeing the Enterprise-D safe at the museum, and right next to Stargazer no less
The graphics department did as great a job with the LCARS power down sequence as they did with the power up. I wonder where they got that clip of Majel's voice again from.

It's a three act play. It's just that Act 1 was eight episodes.
When that one actually has its name come up on a production crew list for a Star Trek show, then I'll start taking anything it posts as being something more than drivel.
Best to be ignored.

Ahhh it looks like some of the turbulence in the thread has cleared up :)
Good luck to the mods, whichever time zones they may be...

Meanwhile I wonder which scene was the one filmed last Fall...

That was thoroughly unfulfilling and I didn't feel anything. 1-6 were spot on, 7-10 just crippling. Barely makes a 5 in my eyes, plodding and predictable.

Chekov was in this later 40’s in TUC, so yeah, later life kid

"When did he have time to have a family?"
"Well, like you always say, if something's important you'll make the time."

Just to put this in context, Jack Crusher (or is it Picard now?) must have been conceived when Jean-Luc was no less than 76 years old.

Seems future humans keep their fertility for longer, given their medical science it's perfectly believable.
Male fertility doesn't ever really screech to a halt the way female menopause does, as far as I'm aware I think, and in any case we can assume Pavel Chekov was actively trying to have a kid and would have used the latest futuristic fertility treatments. It's certainly a lot more believable than Beverly "accidentally" getting pregnant with Jack at 55 in my opinion.

Picard got game
