Maybe looking for the controlling cube? Seven is a good wild card as a proto-Queen/un-networked Borg to attack the Borg signal from another angle.Sooo where did seven and Raffi disappear to at the end?

I disagree, I think it makes a strong statement on our younger generation that is so reliant on networked computers and the IoT where everything is dumbed down to the point of hopelessness. Many young people feel hopeless today and blame the older generation, not themselves. So this episode turns 25 and younger against the older sucessful generation.
Heh .. Star Trek could be the first IP to hit 1000 produced episodes/movies.The character interactions are great. The plot is middling at best. And with a pretty serious plot, the tone is wildly inconsistent. That’s why I’m having such a hard time with this season.
According to Memory Alpha, “Vox” is the 882nd produced Star Trek adventure.
Also, them cracking jokes on the bridge while everyone over 25 in Starfleet was being killed and everyone younger had been assimilated just felt flat. This scene would have worked better if they went to the Enterprise before the Borg's plan was implemented IMO.

Impressive.
Having been in several tension filled incidents during my years, I can assure you that a lot of folks turn to humor quite quickly just for their own ease of mind. This was my one quibble with the episode. As a father of two girls myself, there's no way I could be as nonchalant and light-hearted with my friends while my daughters are essentially held captive by cybernetic monsters.
It doesn't work when they keep going the mystery box route. And there's a difference between finding out who the true villain 1.5 hours into a 2 hour movie vs 9 hours into a 10 hour story if you were going to do the movie comparison.
Did you learn all your critical theory from YouTube? Or just the technical jargon?

The one thing that did get lavish priority were the homages. It's felt like nine hours of unboxing a time capsule to see what we put inside all those years ago. I know that has a lot of emotional resonance for a lot of fans and I'm happy that's brought so many people so much joy. I'm disappointed to find how much it does not work for me.
Not screaming actually, and I'm not saying the writers are hacks. The writers ARE hacks. It's not an opinion.Yeah not referring to you, referring to the account who just joined today, found this thread and decided to start screaming about how the writers are hacks.
So they spent 10 hours to do a roundabout, terrible, worse version of a Wesley Crusher-Ashley Judd episode?Forget politics, this is clearly an allegory to the obsession (mostly) under 25s have with Tiktok and how the oldies are trying to rescue them from their imminent demise.![]()
Yes, it is. It is your opinion. There is no objective definition of hacks that can be utilized. Not screaming actually, and I'm not saying the writers are hacks. The writers ARE hacks. It's not an opinion.
So where do you take the franchise then? The TNG movies were terrible, too. So far, we have zero evidence that this cast could ever really pull off a hollywood movie. It was meant for serialized TV.
For whom? Embarrassing implies a measure of shame but not everyone experiences it the same. Are you embarrassed by this? If so, why, as you have no responsibility with how this show was made?Embarrassing.
Fits with Picards though. Genetic Trauma.
Notice how you have no valid defense for these butt logs--only personal insults.

By all means own your opinion.

You have not shown the standard as objective. Only subjective, as is the nature of art.The dictionary definition of hack is "cut with rough or heavy blows." That's exactly what this is. The most rough, blunt, shallow, surface level dredged up old crap pieced together virtually randomly for your rube enjoyment.
They're objectively hacks. They can't come up with anything new. They can only badly piece together old junk.
