Villains usually are silly. Vadic was in pain, clearly suffering and sadistic. It makes sense to her. Sufficient for me.
Mileage will vary.
I was kind of expecting the worst about Vadic but I ended up quite liking her because her motivations made some sense, as did her instability.
Khans motivations in TWOK also made sense when you think about it
Anyway, so now we get to Jack's abilities, and we're opening the red door to the upside down, or whatever the hell it's supposed to be on the other side. I'm curious to see what all the fuss will be about.
Yeah, I honestly thought "it's the dark side of the Force, run Jack!" when she said it was all around him.Reminded me of the portal to the dark side that tempted Rey, under Luke Skywalker's hovel.
I sincerely hope not. If he knew, and he did nothing to push back against the project, then that makes him a scumbag, and I don't want Riker to be a scumbag.I still want to know if riker knew about project proteus. He made a quip about goo a few episodes ago that suggested he did.
Eh, not really. The deal at the end of Space Seed was Kirk gave him a new planet to try his hand on. Wasn't Kirk's fault the sun exploded, and blaming him seemed like a rationalisation by a psycho.
Vadic, on the other hand, is seeking revenge on the very organisation that tortured and experimented on her.
Khan felt slighted by the fact that by being abandoned and ignored on Ceti Alpha V it meant that the explosion of Ceti Alpha VI was not noticed and as a result they (Khan, the Augments and his wife) were left to die a slow death.
Now is Khan a egotistical monster? Yes of course. However his motives for wanting revenge on Kirk are no less twisted than Vadic. The Changlings used genetic warfare, enslaved races, created slave warriors, etc but somehow it only became bad when they were the ones experimented on.
Both are born out of extreme selfishness and double standards, but both are reactions most people would likely fall into.
This is the same franchise where Kirk gave Khan one to wearA bit presumptuous that Data put his uniform back on. You need to contact Starfleet first and put him back on active duty.

Its safe to assume that he did so under the blessing of Admiral Picard
Can't expand on this right now but I was surprised how much the Data stuff worked for me. I was rolling my eyes thinking about what they were going to do with Data and how brining him back would cheapen everything from S1 but I bought it! Some great VERY long arc resolution with him and Lore. Neo-data is just interesting enough with some new wrinkles that I think it could be kind of good?
Recast him for the Starfleet Academy show and get it overwith. There won't be a better opportunity. And if Spiner still wants to play him, Data has centuries before he turns into whoever could play him in Starfleet Academy.Brent Spiner seems content with Data now and would be happy to continue playing him if the opportunity arises..but this is also along the same lines of "actor enjoys being actor, also enjoys being paid"
