I’m my own worst critic. This may be a problem for me.
(which they most definitely were going to do by the way
In a world of holographic recreations being relatively straightforward a simple recording would not be sufficient to prove itHonestly that whole exchange should have been recorded and broadcast as proof of the changeling infiltration.
Please do......nobody is forcing you to watch OR to post about a show you obviously do not care for. Also, might want to look into the multiquote feature instead of posting repeatedly. Also, maybe take some your own advice you have offered up and relax......it is all make believe, and things like the force field issue have been pretty much status quo for Trek since 1966.Can I go to bed? Very tired and tired of this shite
You've all been skirting away from the main issue regarding whether or not they were justified in possibly killing Vadic (which they most definitely were going to do by the way), by referencing older moments in Star Trek, moments that all had totally different sets of circumstances. It's a sorry state of affairs when you reduce things down to this type of argument, and pluck a few random moments from the franchise's back catalogue.
I would never argue that Star Trek has moments of violence and aggression, but they more often that not actually made sense, in terms of basic storyline and character development. Take Picard and Crusher and what we know of them in the past (and don't give me that carry on about people changing... sure Picard changed during this episode alone, empathizing with Vadic and then wanting to fry her within the space of moments): do you honestly think they'd ever resort to this move? Had they exhausted all avenues of investigation? It's just bad writing, making absolutely no sense. All about drama and thrills at the expense of logic.
And that's the issue really. It's daft. I have no problem if they actually killed her as long as it made sense and, more importantly, show some balls and have the courage of your convictions. Just do it. Shoot her in cold blood. Don't give me another insanely stupid plot contrivance that allows her to escape. Really good drama doesn't work that way, and it's happening again and again and again.
I assure you, I'm very far from a troll; just responding to last the few pages that I'm just after reading regarding rules of war. And beyond that, isn't a forum the perfect place to voice your opinion on something that you love? Care to actually respond to what I've said? Would be far more interesting than making comments directed towards me.
Well then you obviously didn't read it properly because that's not the issue that I addressed in my post. Not even close. The only thing you got right is the "lazy writing" and "stupid drama" part, but I actually supported my claims. And you haven't addressed any of it in this post.
I genuinely don't get where you guys are coming from. Can't there be voices that differ from the common consensus? I'll admit that I was OTT on the first evening but beyond that I've just tried to have a conversation. Isn't that healthy? And in terms of health, I'm not angry or reactionary here; I'm actively trying to have a discussion about the series, a series that I have no problem with anyone enjoying but man, I can't get over people calling it great. Just because you disagree with me shouldn't make you try to shut me down. “I don’t agree with what you say but I will defend to the death your right to say it"
What exactly do you not agree with? You slag me over having an issue about the plotting and I give you a few examples and you just say, "nah, I don't agree with you." Fair enough. I'll leave you be so leave me be too, you know? I'm not quite sure what the issue is here.
I think you meant to say it "was" tiresome. Nobody is perfect.
And I apologise over my initial posts. I really do. Not excusing myself, but I do. I'd lost the plot at that stage (i was about to say like the writers... i can't fecking help myself) but honestly, cheers for the lovely responses.
Nobody has actually responded to what I stated initially about one huge plot contrivance by the way. Force field going at the same time they decided to kill Vadic just to further the plot. She jumps up a shaft as they fire at nothing ( they're lucky they didn't kill one another) . And it had nothing to do with her crew, even though Crusher told Picard that she was too relaxed, that she knows something. Moments like this divorce me entirely from a story because it just doesn't make sense.
I'm a fan of good story telling, always have been. And, beyond that, good characters that I can respond to. It's just been bad.... and I wish it were good... I really do. I'm praying that they pull it out of the fire with the last couple of episodes.
I stopped watching Discovery and Picard before the first seasons ended. I think we're very different that way. But I can distance myself from them... the issue with Picard now is that they brought the old crew back and alot of people that I respect as reviewers said it was good, so I was primed to enjoy it. You know where I'm coming from, right?
I'd suggest that you need to relax . My god,
Can I go to bed? Very tired and tired of this shite
Sorry to keep this off topic joke alive, but this is a very bizarre opinion. Why would anyone need to root a device? All phones just work now and rooting was only ever needed if you wanted to mess around with different builds. You can still install anything you would really need on any android. Why compare a rooted android to a fully controlled Apple device anyway? The only bad thing that happened with my 2 year old Android phone is that the USB port got dirty and the charger wouldn't fit in anymore. A little cleaning fixed that and Apple will have that problem in the future too because they were forced to drop their proprietary, environmentally and customer unfriendly DRM laden cable. They put DRM in their f'ing cable and have hardware in the phone that if it breaks, the whole phone needs to go for repair. I had this happen as I am sure hundreds, maybe thousands of others have. But hey, if you can make a small fraction pay hundreds for repairs for a feature that adds no value to them I guess that is another bonus. And don't get me started on their $50,000 computers that only take one specific form factor of 3RD party GPU, i.e. the one that says Apple on it and costs 60% more than the equivalent part made to fit in any workstation.Yeah that was a popular opinion 10 years ago, but these days even die-hard anti-Apple humans are going for iDroids, because they can no longer be bothered with rooting and side-loading on their Soong-type androids. Now that they have kids and the like, they just don't have time for that.
You do it to yourself. Why come to a fan site to complain about what the vast majority of people on that site are enjoying immensely? Fans who still like most of NuTrek have had to put up with haters whining over and over for the last 6 years. It's really gotten tired and old. You all should go to bed and move on.Can I go to bed? i’m sure this is the case: he didn’t care if the individual drone suffered for the “greater good” of the new Borg society.Even then, I don't think he truly cared about those drones. I have no doubt whatsoever that once they were no longer useful to him or if they started to question his leadership he'd have no problem disposing them. They are just pawns to him.
You are really going to post this kind of false stuff in a forum that has 0% to do with IT?Sorry to keep this off topic joke alive, but this is a very bizarre opinion. Also I cannot help but notice this "return to true trek" hasn't visited a single new world or new civilization.
There’s 2 things to me that hurt season 2: the first and biggest was COVID. The next and almost equally hurtful is Matalas had to pick up where Michael Chabon left them and weave a story from where season 1 ended to a place where he could launch season 3 AND try to entertain along the way. That’s a tall order. This whole ending sequence was spooge-worthy stuff.
I realise the change of showrunner between seasons one and two, but why was season 2 so shite and this so good?
Amanda Plummer is utterly fantastic.

Please take phone talk to the Tech forum……k thx
I want to say yes but for the life of me I cannot remember whenWhen the changeling was shoving Sidney against the force field Ridley-style, it felt especially brutal. Has anyone else used a force-field as a weapon like that?
