I continue to get more any more frustrated with how Elnor's potential has been wasted this season. After watching The Ready Room this afternoon, I'm wondering if this is the last we'll see of him. Another Romulan potential squandered by Trek. Fool me once, shame on them. At this point, it's shame on me.

I'm hoping that was Michelle and EE hedging against spoilers - the cast can't come right out and say that of course Elnor will be back, after all. I just *really* wanna see Elnor and Worf get a couple of scenes together next season. XD

Oh, I've come to another realization this season of Picard.

I really don't like Brent Spiner. I know that's heresy, but it is what it is. In every role I've ever seen him in other than Data, he sets my teeth on edge. I have no idea why.

Janeway never ceases to disappoint.

Janeway: "Seven, I will resign my commission if they don't let you into The Academy."

several days later

SF Command: "Congratulations, ADMIRAL Janeway."

Janeway: "About that whole resignation thing, Seven ..."

I initially accused the writers of being unqualified because of their lack of writing experience. They clearly have a lot of skill.
The writers created a plot hole (Icheb in Starfleet) and character assassination in only two sentences.

The writers just throw in that Janeway caved in.
That in this matter of a moral principle Janeway did not carry out a threat and caved in is such a tarnish on her character.

Do the writers realize how much they damaged Janeway's character in a throwaway sentence? Was this unintentional or deliberate? Did they check that with the higher-ups, with whoever is currently responsible for the overall story development of Star Trek? Did they check this with the writers of Prodigy?

Where are you getting Janeway caved in from? Seven said she herself "gave it up, and went full ranger". So instead of letting Janeway resign, Seven decided not to pursue a Starfleet career.

I've always liked him, but this latest role is annoying me, too. It may well be the terrible writing (they basically just turned him into a cartoon super villain), or maybe just his style hasn't aged well.

Patrick Stewart's acting hasn't been great in this, either.

better than last weeks. but still not above a 7. owell, look forward to next week...
So many possibilities.. wasted.. owell..

I thought this one was pretty good. It was a little “Skyfall” with the Chateau. I hate that it seems we are losing Jurati. Alison Pill has been amazing this season. I thought the emotional beats hit well. I wonder if Soong can be redeemed, and how does the Q plot resolve?

This has me excited for the finale.

Janeway went back-and-forth on things all the time. Her stance on issues depended on the episode you were watching. It drove me nuts sometimes back in the '90s, and it's part of why I eventually stopped watching. I'm going to throw up for defending this, but Janeway's actions are completely in-character for how she was written on VOY.

Just like, unfortunately, Starfleet's decision not to have Seven be part of Starfleet sounds like something that would've been done in the early-2000s to capture that "9/11 changed everything!" vibe. Just substitute it for "The Dominion War changed everything!"

I'm hoping that Jurati just willingly comes back next season not a Borg. These seasons feel like long episodes so another reset to status quo is fine for me haha. As long as she comes back still funny.
