Star Trek passings

If I am not mistaken, Aron is the first actor to have appeared in seven season of a Trek series to have passed away.

Majel Barrett (TOS 1-3, TAS 1-2, TNG 1-5 & 7, DS9 1 & 3-4) has 14 seasons (and two movies) just between her appearances as Chapel and Lwaxana Troi. Add in her voice over work as a Computer Voice, and you cover every season of TOS, TAS, TNG, DS9, Voyager, and the last season of Enterprise. That's 27 seasons and a total of seven films with her involvement in some manner. It'll be awhile before someone tops that.

But not in all seven seasons of a given series.

Well, we just lost Jack Donner tonight, who played 'Tal' in the TOS episode 'Enterprise Incident'. He was 90.

Now, David Hurst passed away. He played Ambassador Hodin in the TOS episode 'The Mark of Gideon'. He was 93.

Ivy Bethune passed away July 19th, age of 101. She played 'Duana' in the ST:TNG episode 'When the Bough Breaks'.

I just read that William 'Billy' Mayo passed away a few months back, age of 61. He played a policeman on the ST:Enterprise episode 'Carpenter Street'.

Reported tonight that William Wintersole has passed away, age of 88. He played 'Abrom' in the classic Star Trek episode 'Patterns of Force'. This brings my estimate of those who have passed to 299 in that series.

I just found out that Dennis Howard passed away June 11, 2014, age of 66. He played a Vulcan captain in the Star Trek: Enterprise episode 'Fallen Hero'.

Steven Marlo passed away, no date announced as yet. He was 92. He played Zabo, an Iotian gangster in the classic Trek episode 'A Piece of the Action'. This brings my list of those who've passed to 300 from TOS. Remarkably, he lived just north of me about 40 miles.

DC Fontana passed away yesterday, age of 80. A major contributor to the universe of Star Trek.
She wrote ‘Charlie X’, ‘Tomorrow is Yesterday’, ‘Journey to Babel’ and re-wrote ‘This Side of Paradise’ and
was co-author of ‘Encounter at Farpoint’ and wrote four other TNG episodes. She helped invent the LCARS bridge consoles. She then finished her career on Deep Space Nine, writing ‘Dax’. She was a true vision of our generation, as much as Gene Roddenberry.

Robert Walker, Jr. passed away Dec. 5th, age of 79. He played 'Charlie Evans' in the TOS episode 'Charlie X'.
