Was Star Trek one of Hollywood's greatest losers of 2025?

I support IDIC and the Federation. That is where my loyalties lie. I’m not familiar with this “fandom” that you speak of. Maybe it’s a good thing.

Kaplah!

I have no faith that Tarantino could ever play nice in Star Trek's universe, he would do it his own way or not at all.

But there's no reason Tarantino couldn't use his fame and influence to just make a new sci-fi movie based around whatever he wants. It's a genre he hasn't tried yet, so it'd be perfect for him.

Thank you for your concern. Please deal with my assertions one-by-one. For example, you could say, “Spock was a vegetarian, so Roddenberry was a progressive after all, not merely a carnivorous lunkhead”. See, I’m helping you!

I could post my ‘I’m tired of being right’ meme, but that would be needlessly redundant.

Interesting. What episode did this happen in?

do they have juicy fruit?
At the end of many episodes the Enterprise crew leave behind a planet where they have effected regime change. Kirk forces Krako and Oxmix to settle their differences. The Federation will then periodically show up to get its “cut”, in effect gaining a vassal planet. “Nazis” are overthrown. The Roman Empire changes its trajectory. The Yangs and the Koms get a lesson in geopolitics. Shall I go on?

Star Fleet is an idealized American military force. It’s not the United Nations Blue Helmets. It is a lethal and aggressive organization. I like Star Fleet. As it is portrayed!

You watched different episodes than I did.

For All Mankind Season 5 coming up, so right now I’m marathoning Seasons 1-4 (again) with the wife in the run up to that.
Just finished re-watching Season 4 of For All Mankind. With six days to spare! Next up: an old show on Tubi called UFO. For whenever I take breaks from watching Dark Shadows.

And now back to whatever the Hell this thread has become about! I have no idea.

Spock: "I believe the Captain feels that Starfleet's mission has always been one of peace."

Still in Season 2, but that's alright! I'll have a few episodes of 5 to binge when I get round to it in April!

U.F.O. was fun. Cute girls with purple hair and Gerry Anderson SFX.

Your reply is, alas, inadequate and therefore totally unacceptable. I gave you evidence and you merely denied it without providing any counter-evidence.

Here’s one more: that planet that wages war with computers and compels citizens to enter eradication chambers whenever their city “takes a hit”. No actual physical destruction - just virtual war with deadly consequences. Well, Kirk is having none of it, and when he and some crewmen are under threat he threatens real war, with destruction and loss of life the old-fashioned way. Needless to say, he convinces the planet to alter its way of life - through force majeur. I like it. I like Kirk’s threats. I like the fact that the Enterprise can destroy the entire planet. Phasers and photon torpedoes. Bring it on!
