Was Star Trek one of Hollywood's greatest losers of 2025?

Don’t know what you’re talking about.
Some posters seem to take it personally when certain entertainment executives make certain decisions or announcements. This is expressed in vehement tones of outrage and sheer vituperative verbal violence, as if they have been deliberately affronted to their faces. Abrams, Braga, Ellison and others are referred to as if the posters know them in real life. Look, people, it’s just images on a screen. If you don’t like it, click away or go do something else. Or read a book. Or complete that scrimshaw project.

You people are worthless humorless nerds!

Chrome Dome Apologists!

Mary Sues!"

This was you, correct?

You don't seem to be very qualified to tell other people how to act.

Is this your first time interacting with fandom of any kind?

Okay. I didn't do that, but you quoted me.

So now what?

I am an Organian, expressing the feelings of my fellow Organians.

Well, you're certainly right about not interacting, since you spend more time being confrontational or condescending to anyone that doesn't agree with you.
I am a fan of TOS and only TOS. I also think that the owners of the franchise have every right to tinker with it as they please. They own it. It belongs to them. I support intellectual property rights. This is important. This is American capitalism. Star Trek is American hegemony. Roddenberry was patriarchy. He was an alcoholic and a lecher. He empowered women - especially if they were attractive and wore short skirts and revealing clothing. Yay Roddenberry! Please reveal these facts to anyone who wants to know the truth about Star Trek. Star Fleet was a military organization. Not para-military. Long live TOS! For the Federation!

Well those were certainly lots of words.

We need Star Trek IV with Chris whatever-his-name-is as Kirk. We need reiterations of TOS - with the actors playing the original characters like Spock, Scotty and Sulu. Reprising of the roles. Action. Adventure. No Chrome Domes. No conferences. No stationary vessels. More explosions. More time travel. More overthrowing of planetary governments by Kirk, aided by his fisticuffs.

Rather common argument; "I want Star Trek!"

"Here's Star Trek with action"

"That's all wrong."

"Here's Star Trek with time travel."

"Also wrong."

"What kind of Star Trek then?"

"I don't know but I know it's not that."
That’s not me. I specifically told you what Baby Boomers want: American heroes wiping the floor with bad guys. Men who act like men. Snort!
