The core of the episode was undoubtedly the Tendi/Rutherford stuff. It was cringe in the best way possible, seeing them be incredibly uncomfortable, even despite both of them clearly having romantic feelings for one another. The status quo returning at the end of the episode felt like a bit of a cop out, but the show does engage in light serialization, and I'd like to think this isn't just going to be a one and done thing.
I like that it's pretty much cemented now that the reason the two aren't actually in a romantic relationship.

Is that neither have any real idea of what a romantic relationship entails.

We haven’t gotten much about post-DS9 Klingon Empire. Despite how popular Klingons are, we haven’t really seen anything substantial exploring Klingon society and its changes at this time. Maybe LS will explore that (and I hope more on Andorians as well!)

My favorite episode this season for sure! I love Ferengi nonsense. Machines to pay so you can use the machines to pay for other machines, a natural progression of jokes created in DS9. And the one sobbing over lost income with Mariner's comment was great too. I wish they could have mentioned Nog somehow, but other than that, no complaints here.

This was awesome!

All four storylines (hear hear, they crammed four of them in a short cartoon episode!) were very predictable but still extremely funny, it was a blast to see Ferenginar again (paradise if god was stupid, ah!) and all the little gags and to have Rom and Leeta back and now I’m totally a d’vana-Rutherford shipper abs want it to happen (and just last week we were saying tendi might be uninterested in such things!).

Fun to see them still working on pimping that wrecked shuttle btw…on the horniest ship in the fleet!

a rare 10. Pure gold (pressed Latinum).

This was shiny in all the best ways. I thought all four plots were good with potential for moving the characters' development forward (or in some direction). I'd argue with others that Mariner seemed stuck or moving backwards. Just asking the question of yourself "why am I trying to sabotage myself?" is growth.

I think my favorite bit was the Landlord Cops. Or maybe the memorial wall to lost income. Or maybe...?
I'll have to watch it a few more times. :)

It was also fun that they were using the TNG uniforms for the ST Experience thing from Vegas, which would be period-correct, along with the matching half-hats. I went to it the last year it was open but it was closed for the evening by the time I got there :(. Missed my only chance to see it, but at least I got a Tribble from the gift shop.

I've always liked Rom so it was nice to see the character again, and Leeta too.

I was a little worried early on that they were writing him as a certifiable moron; he's always been a little dim, but that was more about not being good at scheming or social complexity (he had that "from the mouths of babies" quality, once the writers dialed in his characterization around season 3), while being skilled with technology. I assumed they were doing the "woman behind the man" thing, which, fine, but it seemed like maybe they were sacrificing his character to do it. So I'm glad that ended up not being the case and it was all a long ploy to test the Federation.

All the subplots worked this week; a very good episode all around. I'm glad we had a little movement on the mystery ship plot as well (just a tiny bit.)

Portable Genesis Device?
The technology seems to have been released into use considering the dialogue 'they use them to terraform planets'.
Interesting.

Good episode. Mariner still seems to have some 'demons' to work through though.
Yeah, the way it was said so casually made it sound like it was the norm.

Cut to Picard and the Genesis II device is under lockup in the Section 31 facility.

loved it! giving it an 8 only because no T'Lynn or mention of Nog.

My takeways:
Ferengi Cop shows! I feel ya, Boims!
Rom & Leeta!
Rom still loves baseball!
Mariner is going through some stuff
Mariner's Ferengi buddy is back!
More insight into mystery Mirror unjiverse agonizer ship.
Star Trek Experience reference!
Tendi + Rutherford???
Freeman can negotiate!
USS Toronto is nice
There's a drink called "Dagger of the Mind!"
Dave Foley was a guest voice this week as well!

Anyone else have now have the mental image of Topless Tendi in Rutherford's gym shorts in their head now? Can we get some fan art people in on this?

I enjoyed the episode and would be fine if they did a spinoff just of Ferengi TV shows. lol

It was nice to see Rom and Leeta agian and having the Ferengi join the Federation is an interesting development considering that they're still hyper-capitalists, but I guess whoever is below the Cerritos and is responsible for "third contact" can deal with that.

The only thing I'm just wondering is if the b-plot of this episode was written just to mess with shippers... especially since they just kept the relationship exactly the same. lol
