Can't recall an instance in berman era Trek (or TOS for that matter) where the space suits weren't air tight... in fact, when something went wrong, it was because a suit ended up damaged (which is when problems started to crop up).
The suits didn't only protect against 'known substances'... they were air tight (meaning no foreign substances - apart from maybe certain types of radiation which is an entirely different category) could have affected the person inside the suit.
Yeah, you can. It's a threat that's in the background. They have X amount of time to communicate with Species 10C until it makes its next move. But until Species 10C makes its next move, it's not going to do anything.I'm all for calming down. But you can't calm down when you have an Earth/Vulcan destroying DMA on the loose. Then slowing down doesn't make any sense... It doesn't make any sense to talk about feelings and emotions all the time when there's a time bomb waiting to go off.
Yes, Discovery should calm down, but they should also stop with these Earth/Federation/Galaxy destroying plots if they do so! Otherwise you're losing any sense of urgency. That is what's happening now and it's bad writing!
People are going to complain regardless. It's fatiguing. Move on, already. Discovery clearly isn't Trek so It's ok.When 10 is too much, and people ask for 5, then get 0, it's perfectly logical to complain about it as well.
coming from someone that was complaining a lot about Picard earlier today, writing he hopes the series ends, these words sounds…strange.People are going to complain regardless. It's fatiguing. Move on, already. Discovery clearly isn't Trek so It's ok.
I'm not moving on with Picard. No interest.coming from someone that was complaining a lot about Picard earlier today, writing he hopes the series ends, these words sounds…strange.
more like *you* bring it up constantly.I've been told for years now that Discovery isn't real Trek, that it is all action, bad writing, with poor characters.
Right. No one said bad writing about this episode. Or compared Discovery unfavorably to a newer show and calling that show real Trek. I just make it up.more like *you* bring it up constantly.
I guess we won’t be reading your posts anymore in the Picard threads, then.
Yes we learned they smell.Honestly, this episode largely met my expectations based upon the trailers. I had no expectation whatsoever we were going to meet Species 10-C. I knew it was going to be wheel spinning for the most part. But at least we learned a few things about Species 10-C finally, and the planet-side adventure was decent on a show where you can probably count episodes they've gone on an away mission on two hands still.
I hope so.Please let next week be an hour of looking at the barrier.
True!Look at it this way: If someone complains that DSC has non-stop action, you know they stopped watching at the beginning of the fourth season or earlier.![]()

Actually, it is. Because you know that it can do something in the near-future if you don't stop it, either through force or diplomacy. This is not a threat that is in the background...
