Which proves there has always been criticism of these things on Trek and loads of it.
But when it's pointed out on a Disco thread it's all "but TNG did it too :wah::wah:"

I think it's perfectly fair to criticize Discos crappy science as long as it's not being used to explain how it's worse than other Trek
This. I'm not hating on DSC, but I'm not going to ignore things that make me ask questions, or when I point out shoddy writing, really bad science, or odd character moments. It's because I do love what DSC wants to be, and what I want it to be, too.

Also, I used to own all the Nitpickers Guides. I loved those, and thanks to the passage of time, even some of those nitpicks can be nitpicked. It's a nitpicker's never-ending cycle.

True. This is the show with exploding panels at critical stations, kills the helm officer, but the panel itself still looks fine.

Except for all the rocks blown out of the panel and all over the deckplating!

Starfleet R&D has clearly had budget cuts stretching back at least 900 years. Someone needs to look into that.

Imagine how nice & safe it would be if you worked on a StarFleet Vessel / Facility that was properly OSHA compliant.

That when shit goes wrong, there is "Genuine Danger", and not danger for momentary / cheap drama points.

Hell, OSHA would have problems dating back to Archer's NX-01. He didn't even have seatbelts at a time when at least one member of his crew requested he look into getting them for the ship. It all went downhill from there.

Although oddly the Franklin - launched before the NX-01 and in service around the same time - had automatic seatbelts for the Captain, Helmsman and Navigator. Go figure.

Seat Belts are the most basic things, yet you rarely see them.

What kind of message does it send to the viewers that your organization is SOOO cheap/incompetent that it doesn't offer "Seat Belts".

Yes, all the fancy Inertial Dampeners are great and appreciated, but having something as basic as a Seat Belt would be nice when gravity fails as we saw earlier this season.

7 for me..
Lots better than the travesty of last week.
Still had me yelling at the TV though.
As said.. Why do an experiment during an evacuation? .. That said.. WAIT AN HOUR! Then you can divert all the power u need..

And if I was Michael, i would have saved them then if they said.. I dont want to go, okay.. I'm going this way.. You can follow.. If not.. Up to you.. I'm your only way off this rock.. Good luck!

That and.. They could have walked AND talked instead of just wasting time in one place.

Thing to take from this episode..
Zora is evolving.. Huh..

The A plot (the prisoners on the colony) was about as exciting as creosote, but the B plot (smug scientist and Stamets clash while figuring out the nature of the anomaly while Reno makes pissy observations) is my favourite part of the fourth season so far.

But then she wouldn't have had the opportunity to be incredibly earnest and whispery, and that's required at least once an episode.

What I do not understand is the evacuation plan.

This is my understanding. The Discovery, using its transport array, would beam aboard 40 people at a time. Then, these people were beamed over to the other rescue ships which would take them to a new location. 1000 people divided by 40 comes to 25 times that this process was repeated. If my understanding is correct, why couldn't the other ships do the beaming? Why was the evac plan complicated so much?
