Spoilers Star Trek Discovery 3x13, That Hope is You Part II - Promo trailer

It was nice they addressed that in the episode:
SEVEN: Your galaxy will be purged. Sound familiar?

 

They were communicating with kes. Janeway probably could have tried using kes as an intermediary and relayed how the milky way galaxy has suffered under the terror of the borg.

 

Dramatically speaking, it should be Vance and Osyraa punching it out as they've been fighting for years before Burnham came along.

Burnham dealing the finishing blow to Osyraa would be like Wrath of Khan's Saavik or David Marcus beaming over to the Reliant for a final duel with Khan while Kirk lies unconscious on the Enterprise bridge or something.

 

Just to tell them they were going to wipe out all life in the galaxy.

 

Yes but janeway should have tried communicating with them instead of going straight to the borg

 

The thing that pissed me off about that episode is she should have evacuated everyone in that room, particularly the Kazon leadership. With only beaming herself and the Trabe she played into the betrayal. Stupid decision-making. In my humble opinion and I will be silent now....

 

Nah. Vance is the Saavik or David not the Kirk.

 

Yep for better or worse Michael Burnham is the Kirk stand in here in season 3.

 

Honestly, Vance is basically just Anson Mount's Pike copied.

He's a handsome, prematurely grey man who is there to look reasonable and authorative, but will immediately buckle to whatever the real protagonist of the show needs to do, because of the needs of the plot.

 

I hadn't thought about it until now, but I think you're right. They liked the Pike character, and didn't want to lose him, but they couldn't keep him, so they created Vance to be a similar character as a workaround. In the process: they made him an Admiral to fill the void left by Cornwell, so one of Discovery's own crew could become Captain instead of having a fourth Captain who's new to the series after Georgiou on the Shenzhou, and then Lorca and Pike on Discovery itself.

 

I also never saw this and it's absolutely true!

 

Maybe Osyraa is the good guy after all

 

They cut the scene of Osyraa strangling Michael, right before Michael kicks her in the nuts... turns out Osyraa is a man (That's the big reveal of the next episode!)

 

We live in hope. Personally I want him to show up as this seasons king Theoden

Instead of needing 15 episodes they could have stuck with 13 and not given us 2 utterly useless MU episodes

I get that you can turn it off but sadly for now we have no control over what Trek we get to watch

Best Trek episode since the end of DS9
