You're damn right. That's the last thing I'll ever want to know. Unless they find TrekBBS member SJGardner drinking beer and listening to 80s classic Rock and Synthpop with Sylvia Tilly the most hilarious thing ever. Then they have the best sense of humor in the known universe and I'm all for it. Pike and Vina can join in if they know the lyrics to Dancing With Tears In My Eyes. We have an internet connection if they don't.

Ahhh, Ultravox. I remember it well. Although I'd have to demand that they can sing along with Experiment IV and this one:

For some reason, I think no matter what would be suggested here, Tilly's Starfleetify playlist would already include it.

If Tilly doesn't have "The Moon's A Window to Heaven" on her playlist I'm going to have serious problems with the writing of the character.

Not bad. I liked it.

However, two things:

The manner in which the badguy was dispatched turned out to be very underwhelming. I don't really know what happened, and doesn't it seem risky to bring him along into the future, even after what the Empress did?

Also, the battle didn't seem to have much urgency. Not only are some of the characters talking about their feelings during said battle, but a LOT of stuff happens with relatively no damage to either Discovery or Enterprise, apart from the obvious torpedo that got lodged into its hull. None of the usual Trek battle stuff and more swarms of small crafts running around.

Watched it again and I'm still happy with a mark of eight.
Same things that bothered me on first viewing still bother me, but overall I firmly believe it was a great season finale.
As a small aside, an extra thing that irks me a bit, attaining to the blast door.
If Cornwell had to work the door from inside manually to save Pike / The Ship, then why wait till less than 30 seconds on the clock ?
Why, for instance, couldn't someone have manually worked the door earlier, but have something to jam the door so as not to allow it to fall completely ?
More time on the clock, and once the door descends, and jams, the person who manually worked the door could have did an Indiana Jones and slid under the door before kicking away the thing they had used to jam it.
Door comes down, device then explodes, door does its work, no death of the Admiral, or anyone else in the room.

Here's something I asked myself: Is escaping death the Admiral's plan?

Are you saying she wanted to die ?
Maybe I'm misunderstanding

I looked at her experiences over the last couple years and all the horrific mistakes she has made and their consequences and near consequences. I looked at her arguments with Pike over the course of the season. I asked myself what the hell was she even doing there? And I asked myself why she would volunteer to even try to deal with that torpedo. And then I listened to the conversation she had with Pike at the end. My conclusion was: she was done.

Yeah, when you put it like that I suppose she was.
Could have sworn Reno would be toast, turned out it was Cornwell, ah well

I thought Reno was toast too. Maybe she doesn't like leaving anything unfinished, you know, one of those tidy people.

You seem to be forgetting about the Universal Translator.

How do you explain all those times alien computers could be accessed without tricorder or communicators being present? Tricorders might be able to translate alien computer systems but communicators sure can't

I posited the idea a few pages back that maybe the Universal Translater is semi invasive technology and can access one's optic nerves somehow and provide visual translations.

Bonus if Tilly does fan dance while listening to this .
