Yep, and over the 103 years since we last caught a glimpse of the Terran Empire Empress, I'm SURE there was never any intermingling with other ethnicity because Mirror 'Ho'-shi was so virtuous and discerning of her intimate partners (and I'm sure her progeny in the Terran Empire had the same values...)...oh, wait...One is of Chinese descent and the other of Japanese descent!
But if they are related then the same has to be true for both universes.Yep, and over the 103 years since we last caught a glimpse of the Terran Empire Empress, I'm SURE there was never any intermingling with other ethnicity because Mirror 'Ho'-shi was so virtuous and discerning of her intimate partners (and I'm sure her progeny in the Terran Empire had the same values...)...oh, wait...![]()
Yeah, okay mate.Yep, and over the 103 years since we last caught a glimpse of the Terran Empire Empress, I'm SURE there was never any intermingling with other ethnicity because Mirror 'Ho'-shi was so virtuous and discerning of her intimate partners (and I'm sure her progeny in the Terran Empire had the same values...)...oh, wait...![]()
I love everything about this post...I'm giving this a fucking TEN. I don't care what the hate-watchers say about the g-d ships not looking right, etc, etc. To me, storytelling is paramount, and this storytelling is beyond what I imagined we'd be getting from the DISCO crew.
I don't want to spoil it for anyone who's venturing into this thread w/o watching the show (it's early, barely Sunday night), but I am very, very, VERY happy with the anticipated Mirror Universe arc that's in the offing. It's my favorite part of Trek and as far as I'm concerned, we can stay in there ALL of the rest of the season and I'll be a happy camper.
Btw, after the episode, in the preview of next week's show, we caught a glimpse of a bearded MU Sarek (I guess I'll take him if I can't have my beloved bearded MU Spock), and a deeper foray into the MU-verse coming up next Sunday, which needs to hurry up and get here already.
Um, I went with an actress that was ON THE SHOW earlier this season.Yeah, okay mate. With that logic any of the crew could be her descendant, but for some reason you immediately went with the East Asian actress, Funny dat!

I love that they give Tilly all of the choice swear words to introduce into the Trek lore.
I watched "After Trek," and they made it seem like maybe 3 episodes total, but they kept using the term "episode arc" rather than give a specific number, so it could be two.So how many episodes will there be in the mirror arc? Is it ending after the next one?
Agreed. Also, I must state again that I despise mirror universe episodes. I do not like them. Yet this episode was terrific, and the best of the season so far.Fuckin' A -- MIRROR UNIVERSE! Loved the episode. The re-design of the Defiant can totally be explained by the fact that 100 years have passed since it appeared in the MU, so surely some modifications have been made.
Emperor Philipa Georgiou is a descendant of Emperor Sato, perhaps?
Frakes was spot-on: this wasn't just the best episode of the year, but the best episode of the series thus far.
