Okay, so the desert walkabout makes no more sense than it did in the ads...

I can see why they released the titles without credits - the animation is designed and timed in such a way that the typography is crowded.

As far as I'm concerned, they nailed it with the new theme. And what the Shenzhou captain just did was an homage (deliberate?) to something Kirk did in the comics once.

Yah, all the wind made it seem silly.

Odd choice to start with the long speech in Klingon if you're trying to attract new fans. (Especially with the closeup on what was obviously makeup.)

I liked the titles. They're growing on me.

Definitely has that "Star Trek premiere awkwardness" but it has my attention. I like Lt. Saru a lot already.

Saru is a stand-out, and funny.

Everything else in act one is jargon.

Stiff dialogue at first, but it got exciting by the commercial. Like how menacing space seems.

If Saru is always a scaredy cat, that's going to get old quick.

Premiere awkwardness & meandering. A lot of cgi $ dumped into this though. Beautiful.

Major TMP vibes with Burnham's thruster suit. So far, this show is working for me. Great chemistry between the characters.
