Jeri Ryan herself has debunked this myth numerous times. The evil producers did not prevent Jeri from breathing for four years; she was perfectly capable of breathing in the catsuit. She did, on one occasion, have difficulty breathing in the full-body Borg drone outfit, but the make-up people fixed the problem. Still, this didn’t stop people’s imaginations running away with themselves.

Yeah, that may have been due to the collar partially occluding her carotid artery , based on the height of the collar on that particular suit and it did seem a bit constricting, based on photos.
