The thing that always point out to people complaining about actors being reused is that actors are people who need work to make a living. How is it fair they're denied a role on a particular show just because they were on the show before?
RTD has already said - in print and on the record - that there is no active spin-off development currently happening, which ought to be enough to squash The Mirror's claim outright.

Hey, at least Doctor Who doesn't shoot in Vancouver (except for that one time). There are a surprising number of actors who've done the hat-tricks of Battlestar Galactica/Caprica/Blood and Chrome, and Stargates SG-1/Atlantis/Universe in different roles each time. And they didn't always progress logically from "less memorable role" to "equally or more memorable role" so you wouldn't necessarily recognize them the first time through.Watching people complain about reusing actors makes me wonder if (a) they've ever seen the Original Series* and (b) if they understand just how many years it's been since the pair briefly appeared.
Recognizing Canadian actors is half the fun of watching shows filmed in Vancouver from the 90s and 2000s. I remember rewatching The X-Files a few years ago making offhand comments about what was going on in a particular scene and then taking note "and there's Roger Cross."Hey, at least Doctor Who doesn't shoot in Vancouver (except for that one time). *Did people in the 1960's complain when Peter Purves played two different characters in THE SAME STORY!!
Couldn’t pick a winner in a one-horse raceSomeone want to check on DigificWriter?
Maybe there's a part in the series where her character goes undercover and is disguised as a Sea Devil or Silurian? That would explain why they care about the stand-being biracial and willing to wear prosthetics. Why would the stand-in need to be biracial when they would be under prosthetics? Assuming she's actually playing a Sea Devil or Silurian.
Yeah, maybe. But it's still a weird leap in logic on Rich's part.Maybe there's a part in the series where her character goes undercover and is disguised as a Sea Devil or Silurian? That would explain why they care about the stand-being biracial and willing to wear prosthetics.
Just idle speculation.
If the internet had existed in 1965 there would have been grumbles.Watching people complain about reusing actors makes me wonder if (a) they've ever seen the Original Series* and (b) if they understand just how many years it's been since the pair briefly appeared.

Probably would also deny that the one-horse was even racing!Couldn’t pick a winner in a one-horse race

"The racing arena's Twitter account SPECIFICALLY STATES that Clyde's Dale will NOT be in the race. The folly is yours for placing a bet on him."Probably would also deny that the one-horse was even racing!
I believe there are people empowered to do so. Contact the Mods.Cast read-through today & shooting starts on Monday; so it's a shame we can't change the thread titles as it's out of date now.
It seems impossible to post photo's here directly anymore, so you'll have to go to Russell's Instagram to see a photo and try and guess who the (unannounced) blurry actors are. I'm 99% sure Ruth Madeley's one of them.
