Nailed it.

I’m never sure of the context of those statements — I’m sure he has zero interest in returning as a series regular, but a day or two of work doesn’t seem out of the question.IIRC, Colm Meaney has said in the past he has no interest in returning to Star Trek. Granted, so have many others who have been coaxed back in recent years, so who knows?
SFA will automatically become my favourite Trek show if they do this, and give Trip a proper conclusion he deserves
completely agree. The other crews had satisfactory conclusions. Now that the TNG crew had a rousing send off in PIC S3, the ENT send off is the only real Trek conclusion that sticks in my craw. I mean, I have ending for particular chatacters I did not love (Kirk, Trip, Icheb, Hugh, Ro, etc.), but in terms of cast, the Enterprise finake really rubs me the wrong way.
I thought the DS9, VOY, LD, PRO, and even DISCO conclusions were all satifactory or better. But ENT deserved better than TATV to go out on. That is what really appealed to me about United. One of them, anyway.
I'd love a shot of rectifying that. The ENT love in SNW was welcome, and in LD as well.
I don't think Landau is that keen on ENT and she forgets to mention it completely in her Collider interview.completely agree. The other crews had satisfactory conclusions.
PIC fixed the Nemesis conclusion.
Even Pro had a satisfying ending.
ENT never got the send off it deserves, and it's not too late for Trek to 'fix' that ending

Is that what that was?rousing send off

I think seven years in a space suit was enough, you know? I'm often asked that question and you never say never, of course, but first of all I wouldn't fit in it anymore. And I remember people saying at the time when 'Voyager' got going, 'How many times can you go to the well? How many times can you revamp this?' They successfully did it with 'Star Trek' and they're still doing it. Good luck to them. [...] Do you want to see an elderly Miles O'Brien? I don't know. It's certainly not at the top of my agenda of things I'd like to do at the moment.
Very few actors will say no to a large pile of money.Meaney's actual quote was this:
I interpret this as he has no desire to reprise a role just for the sake of nostalgia. He's certainly someone whose career picked up post Trek, and is still getting lots of work even today. So he doesn't need the money. Like a lot of actors, he probably enjoys the challenge of doing new and different roles over time, as well.
But he doesn't close the door. Which leads me to think, if the script was good enough, he'd consider it.
They're going to make all of "United" be an episode where the cadets go through a historical simulation hologram a la TATV, aren't they?
What I remember, it was around the time the Picard series was first announced, Meaney was doing an interview where the interviewer noted that Disco had brought Star Trek back to television and the Picard announcement meant new 24th century content was coming and if he'd considered returning to the franchise. Meaney answered that while he enjoyed his time with Star Trek, it's in the past for him and he had no interest in revisiting it. Which, granted doesn't rule out the possibility he could be talked back, just that it isn't a priority for him.I’m never sure of the context of those statements — I’m sure he has zero interest in returning as a series regular, but a day or two of work doesn’t seem out of the question.
He also returned for STO not to mention those fanfics he read during lockdown. He isn't one of these negative noras that's done with the franchise. It's also worth noting about ten years ago or so there was a DS9 main cast reunion at a convention, Meaney and Alexander Siddig were the only ones who did not show. Granted, that also means nothing, they could have had other commitments that prevented it, and Siddig did recently show up on Lower Decks. Still, it's worth noting.
Rousing; regurgitating, both have an R in them.Is that what that was?
