So what are you reading, now? Part V

Finished True Grit by Charles Portis. I liked it a lot, but it's a struggle to see it as its own entity apart from the two film versions.

Now...I've set myself a pretty large reading project. I like to call it 100 Great Novels (or 100 Great Novels In English, given the nature of the list). I did my research and came up with a few significant works that I think give a fairly well-rounded history of the novel in the English language. It's sort of half self-education and half just catching up on all those classics I haven't managed to get to yet. If you want to read more about it and check out the full list, you can visit my blog at the link below. I'll be posting reviews as I go along too.

First up is The Pilgrim's Progress which I consider (along with Aphra Behn's Oroonoko) to be a kind of "proto-novel".

Interesting list.

Good luck getting through this, as some of the titles there can send you to sleep in 5 minutes flat! :)
You're not the first to say so. :D I like to consider myself a seasoned veteran of reading, though, and I've read a lot that would and has sent others to sleep. That being said, I'm probably most wary of Pamela and perhaps Tristram Shandy. But I'm honestly looking forward to almost everything else that I haven't read yet.

^ How is it? Library doesn't even have it on order yet :( Dreadnought (not DTI, I've read DTI is excellent).

Just finished it...

It's just as fun as the previous books...going by way too quickly, as usual. Part of me thinks it might have made more sense to wait until a few more sequels had been written, but I couldn't help myself.

I'm currently reading the Star Trek Voyager: Dark Matters series(Good books. I got all three for really cheap. :P). I previously read Star Trek Destiny(It was cool but the ending was kind of... No).

Finally got around to finishing Orion's Hounds (and wound up enjoying it quite a bit) and started reading Sword of Damocles. At this rate I should be all caught up by the time the Vulcans get here in 2063. ;)

Also reading The Forever War and Addie Pray (a.k.a. Paper Moon).

Just finished Reap the Whirlwind. GREAT read, the review is in my blog below. I really wanted to start DTI: Watching the Clock, but it's not yet available for download from the Kobo store. :( So, instead, I'm going to read Peter David's Vendetta, because I've heard so much about it but I still have yet to read it. Going to rectify that particular oversight immediately!

Trek books are usually available at the Kobo store a week after the release date. So, it will probably be there tomorrow.

The last few books I read is:

*What Does Justice Look Like by the author Waziyatawin...(a required book actually).

*Back Story by Robert Parker....(a Spencer novel)

I actually want to read some of Parker's other works (Jesse Stone, Sunny Randall).

I've decided to set Star Wars: Outbout Flight aside in favor of DTI: Watching the Clock. I was gonna wait and read Paths of Disharmony and Indistinguishable from Magic first, but after reading all of the reviews and comments on the board I can't wait any longer.

Finished Q Space on Monday night, almost finished book 2, Q Zone. Q Strike should be done by the weekend at this rate. :)

Finished Watching the Clock (Dead Tree Format) earlier today and read Scattered Earth: Crossed Paths by Aaron Rosenberg on my Kindle after that (it's a novellete (I think), so it was a fairly quick read.)

Next up is Blind Man's Bluff.

I finished Oroonoko pretty quickly (I'd say it barely classifies as a novella). It was worth checking out, but I'm not sure I'd call it a must-read. I'm moving on to Robinson Crusoe next.

currently reading star trek destiny 3 lost souls. all so picked up howard pyle's the merry adventures of robin hood. question on the robin hood book is this the book kevin costners movie was based on all so the 2010 movie as well?
