Spoilers Skeleton Crew [Spoiler Discussion]

It felt like it was setting up for new storylines. Who was on the Tantive IV (or a ship just like it)? Who was Jod's Jedi mentor? Where is Jod going to go from here. What is Wim going to do now? Why was Neel's dad absent until we saw his family standing outside huddling together. Where was he during rest of the time?

And I felt like Wim's dad was holding back.

Now where’s the scene where the First Order kidnap them and program them into stormtroopers? :)

Almost forgot. I was taken back by what the supervisor said about the last message, about the Jedi being traitors. Who sent the message? The Empire would have gone after them. I'm wondering if the message was actually sent before the clone wars began, not when Order 66 happened? perhaps by Sifo-Dyas.

I doubt they'd ever touch base on that tho...just a throwback comment put in by the writers, to be forgotten by the writers for season two if it happens.

I think that was just from Palpatine's speech.

Then who sent it? Why would Palpatine's speech be the last message sent to them? If it was sent to them, it means someone at that time knew. If they were friendly to the Empire, happily following where Palpy took them, they would have gone in and taken the mint.

If it was a general broadcast, why didn't the supervisor receive the further transmissions from the Empire? Or did it...fully aware of all of the happenings during the Empire, the rebellion and the new republic....Then why would they keep on running the mint?

I know...plot :bolian:

What was Jod's plan in regards the credits?

Let's say it worked as he dreamed. The citizens of At-Attan are enslaved and they keep minting credits. Jod is on charge of the planet but seemed more interested in the credits... But to do what with the credits exactly? Fly to another planet and buy things?

You know what politics is like. New people take charge and they have different piorties from the ones before. Maybe all that knew about it were killed during the purge.

Not important. I think the scene is about Wim seeing there are good guys and wanting to be apart of the greater Galaxy

Jod's mentor is also not important. I'm sure there will be fans who want her to be someone they know.

Jod's going to jail

Wim will probably join the Republic's armed forces to fulfill his dream of helping people.

He was busy doing accounting or something. Wookieepedia said he was in the first episode,

Holding back in what way? He seemed like dad and bureaucrat.

Well yeah. He can buy things. Invest. Finance the building of ships. Bribe government officials . The usual things people can do with money.

Yeah, the ending was rather abrupt, I was expecting at least one or two more scenes with them meeting the people from the New Republic, or maybe a time jump to show what life is like after The Supervisor.
Other than that I thought it was great.
So I guess you guys were right about Jod after all. His backstory was not quite what I expected, but explains the combination of Jedi like, but also non-Jedi behavior.
But I was right about the Supervisor, so I at least feel better with that.
I like how all of the kids and Weems, and Fern's mom all got at least one hero moment.

YAY B-WINGS

I really thought when the ship went down it was going to be one of those by now cliche things where nothing happens for a few seconds and then it comes shooting back up. Glad to be wrong but then I thought she died.

Why didn't the pirate ship have escape pods??

Not sure what purpose such scenes would serve.

Fantastic. I loved it.

A lot of nuance in Jod's character, and that's quite welcome to me.

All the characters were wonderful.

I'd like to imagine that was Leia coming in for a landing.

And I loved the picture show at the end. Was that Wim's storybook, with a new frame of the Skeleton Crew atop the Onyx Cinder?

I was disappointed an actual Jedi didn’t show up at the end. With all the talk about him wanting to meet one it would have been fitting if one did appear at the end with the Republic.
The obvious choice would have been Luke but I think it would have been more interesting if a young Ben Solo showed up to help.

Yeah, in retrospect these days no one ever dies from a crash landing.

My impression was a Republic ship landed and brought the news. This would have been pretty much right as Order 66 was being carried out. The way hyperspace works, it's conceivable the ship received the news en route to At-Attan.

Then the Empire never bothered with the planet again. Change in currency. Wipe away the vestiges of the Republic.
