Spoilers Skeleton Crew [Spoiler Discussion]

I was a little surprised we're getting a new episode tonight, I figured they'd take this week off since it's Christmas Eve.
Why? TV has always been a highlight of seasonal times, it's not like nothng is broadcast at Christmas time, quite the opposite. Also not everyone celebrates Christmas.

None of the current shows my wife and I watch were on this week nor next. Well, except Skeleton Crew.

Most all the prime time network shows are on break and in reruns.

There’s a couple frames where the hologram stabilizes and you can see the captain is a Weequay

I don’t think they would have tried to hide his face that hard if it wasn’t going to be import later. I think the captain survived the crash. Maybe he took over the supervisor’s position on At Attin

First guess...the concubine mentioned early in the latest episode is Wix's mother. She wasn't a real concubine but someone who was playing Rennod.
So, last week people were speculating his mother was "King No Head." This week, she's the concubine. Are we just going to keep guessing someone mentioned in each episode is the mother until if an when his mother is actually revealed?

Really enjoyed Episode 5. Not only does this series remind me of "The Goonies", with a little bit of the Indiana Jones films thrown in; but also this 1962 Disney TV movie called "Mooncussers".

I had that thought too. But the traps gave me more of Last Crusade vibe. Not enough monkey brains and runaway mine trains
Wim revealing he stepped on a peg that set off the trap is lifted directly from Temple of Doom. The skull-like "throne" for the pirate captain was also very evocative of "Doom." The decapitation trap, however, was definitely out of "Last Crusade."

The episode was a huge Jones/Goonies pastiche for sure.

This was the silliest episode by far and the most evocative of Goonies (to say nothing of Indiana Jones.) I enjoyed it probably the least of all the episodes, but it was at least goofy fun.

And the dark ending was a nice change of pace after the relative lightness of the rest of the episode.

Still digging the show.

Yes. So what?

Episode 5 was some of the best Star Wars ever. The big monster reminded me of the Luck Dragon from A Neverending Story. And Kelly MacDonald! That was awesome.
