I don't think I ever "noticed" the music before in a movie or tv show, but, I LOVED that song.

Now, I have to go buy the CD.

To each his own. I thought the song sucked a big one.

I'm a classic rock kinda person, but, I also love songs that make me laugh - like "She Fuckin' Hates Me" and "I Kissed a Girl and I Liked It".

If you can't laugh at life ...

They don't need to permanently switch minds. Get an expert (in whatever is needed, ancient tech/ancient language/medicine) to spend 2-4 hours each day on the ship each day. Non-essential ship members can rotate in and out (making sure that nobody is spending too much time with their body being used).

More importantly, though, they should get an expert on-board when there's an emergency. It should be step 1: alien illness (get a doctor), engine not working (get a mechanic), language problems (get a linguist), psychiatrist problems (get a psychologist or psychiatrist if they have any related medications on-board).

How many experts on alien viruses and Ancient technologies are there though?

Well, after 12 or so years of the Stargate program, you'd have to say there are more than the ZERO they're showing on SGU thus far.

And assuming that they can't find an expert on-hand...they could still send a doctor to help out the medic during the alien illness. It's just common sense.

One other thing to think about, I doubt if Rush would want somebody else taking over his command and undrstanding of the ship. And I do think this'll be addressed later on.

We're talking medical expertise, specialists etc... - no one is taking over from Rush.

They keep saying "these are the wrong people" mostly every episode, why don't they do something about it!

Recreational use of the stones should definitely take a backseat to stuff like this. If they need expertise, just fucking stone it over.

This was the best body swap episode so far but I would still prefer not to have to watch anymore earth storylines. It's a sci-fi show after all.

But at least we got some substance this time.

It doesn't matter what experts they do or don't bring in. They're all going to die billions of light years from Earth and That's why everyone gets a "trip home".

Of course, as the viewing audience and we're pretty certain the writers will come up with some plausable explaination, we're fairly certain all they need is 'expertise'.

I find it incredibly tiresome that you people wish to see these actors as if they actually lived away from hygenic facilities and even want the main characters to die, but can concieve that, from a character perspective, they're treating these people as if the situation were real and dire.

Your logic only works if the situation is completely hopeless, not if it is "real or dire." But that's not the case. The crew is actively exploring the ship, gathering provisions and survives, and in general surviving.

Exactly. They are solving their immediate problems. If the true attitude back on Earth was "fuck it, they're all gonna die anyway," then why wouldn't they just let everyone have one stone trip to say "goodbye," then ram the ship into a planet?

The episode was definitely a great character ep, but I'm ready for a non-body-swap episode and more episodes like "Time". I know episodes involving non creepy crawly antagonists are on the way and I'm looking forward to them. I gave it 7 but I admit I'm being very generous.

But they can't have it both ways. If the powers that be on Earth want to mine this opportunity to learn more about Ancient technology, then they'd be best served keeping the people aboard Destiny healthy and happy and prolonging the situation as long as possible. If they really think the people on Destiny are doomed, and that it's not worthwhile to send experts to learn about the ship and help keep things running smoothly, why maintain contact at all?

Same as if it were happening for real and not a tv show. Because, even tho you know there's nothing you can do, you can't turn your back on them. You do what you can to keep them comfortable and reassure them, but ..., in the end, you know there's nothing you can do.

So, you accept all the reports ancient technology and let them see their families and then ..., what? Just wait for them to die? No. You keep up the pretense, just ... because ...

I see no reason why they wouldn't fully exploit this opportunity by sending experts over via the stones. Even if they can never bring the ship back, they can certainly bring back a wealth of knowledge. By having people study the ship, and by training the Destiny crew members Earthside, they could extend this project for years--perhaps even decades.

They have virtually nothing to lose by sending people qualified to study Ancient technology to bring back information, and a wealth of knowledge to gain. It makes no sense that they aren't doing this, and are instead letting people from Destiny wander around unescorted on Earth in other people's bodies.

Except what may or may not go wrong with the stones.

Despite their flagrant use in this series, they still have no real idea how the damn things work.

They may be a bit leary bringing in people like Daniel Jackson and Sam Carter - or Rodney McCay.

Oh, and remember, they kept making excuses to keep Jackson from going to Atlantis. They didn't send Carter there, they sent the second brightest guy ... who is now just as knowlegable as Carter.

As much as I've enjoyed some of the Earth moments, I really wish this show had the stones to drop the damn stones and deal with these people truly being far, far from home. There's drama in that. How these characters deal with it. But it's hard to take any psychological impact seriously since they can just play with the inter-galactic ouija board and take a quantum jaunt home.

Terrible. Just terrible. The music, the nonstop melodrama... just... everything. I gave it a 2 because Universe probably has worse episodes left in it. But this just wasn't good... at all.

Don't care about this homo stuff. In fact, don't care much about any of the events that are happening on earth. I wish they would of just been able to call by some sort of hologram. We need some drama, but keep it on the ship. And let's start exploring planets! I would like some of the crew to get killed and introduce some aliens that for some reason get stuck on the ship and have them become part of the crew.
