Yes the comm badges were high tech for that era but did they not have subspace beaming that Feds didn't have even in the 25th century?
That's actually a matter of debate amongst fandom. Some say they did, and that's how Sloan always beamed aboard DS9 for his visits to Bashir's quarters, others will claim that it's "totally obvious" Sloan had a ship hidden nearby.

Actually, I was satisfied not knowing if Sloan was really part of some super-secret organization, or if he was just pulling everybody's leg. Because DS9 made that distinction very vague.
Everyone always says that, but I never got that impression. And indeed, even the novels assumed Section 31 must have been a thing besides Sloan's prank, given there was a novel series about Section 31's adventures with the TOS, TNG and Voyager characters based only on what was established about them in DS9.

Oh, I wasn’t implying that Section 31 wasn’t a thing. Just that Sloan might have been using it as a cover story for whatever he was doing by implying that the organization still existed when it didn’t.

Section 31 already had comm badges in the 2250s as per Disco S2, but I'm pretty sure that's the only indication anywhere that they're tech is more advanced than regular Starfleet.
The computer screens on the S31 ship in Discovery also had some LCARS influence, with curvy buttons/brackets and such. That was confirmed to be intentional IIRC, as them using prototype/more advanced tech.

Plus their phaser pistols were pretty similar to the Assault phasers from the TOS movies

Definitely a better trailer than the last one. I remain cautiously optimistic.

Of course I also went through the trailer in slow motion to see if I could spot any Lost Era Federation Starships....
