I can't see any of those happening.
When you look at the latest developments, yes, it seems like it won't happen. But in my opinion, if Paramount continues to go bankrupt, I think it will fall into the hands of companies like Amazon or Apple. I don't know how much WBD currently owes. But I think it will fall into the hands of Apple or Amazon. If the current developments continue in the future.

Paramount isn't going bankrupt. As for streaming in addition to Paramount Plus their other service Pluto TV is doing quite well.

The only thing they've done with the preparations for this merger is to eliminate a lot of duplication for the new merged entity.

they didn't Greenlight Strange New World season 4 on a whim; it's the current live action Star Trek property that's doing very well for them in terms of viewership. The Yellowstone franchise and it's spin-offs are doing a bit better, but they're not going to just kill something that's doing well for them; and given that pre-production for SNW season 4 has been in the works for months and they plan to start shooting in March and are finishing up shooting on the first season of Starfleet Academy and have also renewed that for a second season; no they're not going to just up and cancel Strange New World season 4.

How well season 3 does with respect to viewership once it is released will definitely influence their decision as to whether there will be a season 5; but yeah given that season 4 will be filming before season 3 is even released to the public, SNW season 4 will not be canceled as a result of the merger. Those involved with the merger are very much aware of the schedule they have in place and it was probably done as part of the plan for the merger.

I wish Paramount had made Paramount Plus a worldwide release instead of making licensing deals with local platforms. Paramount Plus wouldn't have been hurt.
Huh? What are you talking about?

Paramount+ is global and itself in a majority of the other markets.

The only real licensing deals they did for outside the U.S. were:

The new slate of Star Trek series to SYFY Canada (although they now have P+ in Canada too - so Canadians can go either route.

Discovery to Netflix up until S4 when P+ used the buyout clause to end that deal so they could stream Discovery on their new \Worldwide outlets (they did screw the pooch on that and ended up streaming the 4th season free on Pluto TV or other outlets in many areas because they were still readying their infrastructure in some countries.

Picard licensed to Amazon Prime outside the U.S. - and with the series ending after S3 because 3 seasons was all Patrick Stewart agreed to; they did feel it worth it to buy S3 out from Amazon.

But yeah, P+ (and Pluto TV) are both available in many other streaming markets worldwide atm.

No, many countries including the MENA region also license Paramount Plus content. They have an agreement with the Bein Group in the MENA region.

We also license TV series they make with famous movie stars to local platforms. In Greece, a platform called Cosmo TV broadcasts Paramount Plus TV series. Paramount gives these countries content to broadcast on local platforms instead of putting it on its own platform.

and they are not trying to enter markets like mena, turkey and greece. they license certain content in turkey. SNW's first 2 seasons were licensed by TOD Platform belonging to Bein Group in Turkey. They aired the first 2 seasons in time but both seasons were cancelled. Will the 3rd season be aired? It is not clear. TV series made by famous movie stars are licensed by a platform called Turkcell TV+ in my country. In mena region and greece, all movies and TV series made by companies belonging to Paramount Global are licensed by channels and platforms belonging to Bein Media. they previously had an agreement with a platform called OSN+ broadcasting in mena region. They have an agreement of this size with Cosmo TV in Greece.

We had our proper TNG goodbye in Picard season 3. It's time to move on. I would be okay with a Picard episode or cameo in a "Legacy" show since his son would be regular. Same thing with any of the other TNG characters but no more long term stories about them. I think the one exception might be Worf. Worf was a regular on DS9 so he also kind of translates past just being a TNG character. Seeing Worf as a regular for a season would be fine. I feel their is more story to tell with his character after Picard season 3.

They made the cover of next months SFX Magazine.

What caught my eye was that we got our best look yet at Garrett's lost era Phaser.

Seconds away from posting this @HoHoHoRod

I'm imagining a MK3 or 4, if I were to give it a name. It's cool.

I also think it's pretty cool. I love that it looks like a cross between the TWOK phasers that we saw in Yesterday's Enterprise, and the TNG season 1 Dust Buster Phasers.

That they did their homework on the phaser, does give me hope for the rest of the film.

Oh shit! Good catch. That's a great bit of continuity on their part.

Garrett’s commando uniform is also reminiscent of the STV commando uniforms, only blue instead of tan.

Now they just need to show ships that look like the Ambassador class, and I’ll be really happy.
I'm pretty sure they will not pass up a chance to show the Enterprise 1701-C in some form; even if it's just a shot of it under construction near the end of the film.

I love how you're all excited about her outfit and phaser. I saw Discovery season 1-2 away team uniform and Wrath of Khan phaser and on closer inspection they're slightly different versions of those things.

Maybe it's me.
