Little did "Lower Decks" know that it would be opening up a decades lasting running joke that will outlive them all! I say we welcome 'Discovery isn't canon" into the club of Tuvik,pilot character who was supposedly a regular on Enterprise, penis rock and so many more!
Madred was military, not Obsidian Order.
I don't think Obsidian Order operatives go around telling everyone they're with the Order, so considering Madred never said he wasn't Obsidian Order (or even if he did considering how much he lied in Chain of Command), he well could be one.
I would say Madred was also with the order. Granted The Obsidian Order wouldn't be invented until next year after that episode in season 2 of DS9 but Madred does seem to fit the bill better than being a military man. I mean what his job is in the episode seems to feel more like the stuff the Obsidian did.
Neither do people who aren't in the Order.
But, nobody expects the Obsidian Order.

Andrew Robinson certainly doesn't think Madred was Obsidian Order, given in his novel A Stitch in Time Garak comments about how Madred's mishandling of Picard's interrogation was enough that the Obsidian Order was able to guarantee the military never interrogated another prisoner while the Order was still around. Yes, yes, novels aren't canon, all that jazz. But if Andrew Robinson says someone was not with the Obsidian Order, that's enough for me to know they were not with the Obsidian Order.

I'm unpleasantly surprised at how cheap that looks. The bounty hunter's (?) armor reminds me way too much of this guy from Stargate. And the obvious silver paint dry-brushing looks like cosplay.
I'm really amused this movie now has a whole section in the forums, with threads below that have been around for several years. Granted, the forum layout was done in anticipating this to be an actual series.

Exactly. Either this happens (which would be pretty cool, obviously) or we’ll make this a subforum under Discovery. Nothing set in stone yet, we just wanted this to be as visible as possible for when the streaming movie happens.
