It actually makes Nick Fury a better spymaster because it shows that Nick was able to leverage unconventional assets.
Which is what Nick Fury does (see: The Avengers).
Possibly, at least I doubt it's a coincidence that there is an upcoming Avengers movie titled Secret War.
Secret War is separate from Secret Invasion. This will be resolved here.

Well, that's probably unrelated considering the source material and being so far off.
The only obvious setup is The Marvels and, as I already posted, Ali Selim said the only setup he needed to do was have Fury in a certain place. Whether he meant physically or state of mind is yet to be seen.
The cast are great but it's all a bit dull. Spy stuff can be incredibly tense, cross and double cross, bluff and counter bluff with the added bonus of shapeshifting, but this just isn't interesting at all. A huge waste of the talent at their disposal.
Agree with what people have said about the scene on the sub, the XO basically having to cajole the captain into launching, but for me the issue was the commodore.
1. If he's a Skrull why was her protective of the real commodore's son? I mean if Gravick has his way all humans gonna die right?
2. So the guy's a senior officer in the Royal Navy and his password is...his son's name

Plus points. Fury and Talos are great together, and Collie lights up the room whenever she's around, which sadly isn't often enough. I love Emilia Clarke but hoping she ain't dead and that she gets something more interesting to do.

Ok, I think Secret Invasion is ok. Nothing special. But I really don't get the "It's not adding new characters or furthering the MCU! What's the point?!" criticism. Shows are allowed to exist just to be their own shows, without being a stepping stone in the Cinematic Universe.
EP3 was ok. the sub scene was odd why on earth would you comply with a order to fire on a unarmed UN jet

I fully admit that I'd just watch Talos and Fury bickering for 6 episodes. 
Unless I missed something (like the blink-and-miss-it glance at the dossier), I'm pretty sure the Skrull was the weapons officer and not the XO. Either way, that conversation shouldn't be happening in the open like that. Shatters confidence in the chain of command.

To be fair, RL codes are 99% that exact way and that includes military.
Yeah when I saw that, I was hoping whatever happens will eventually lead to the Super Skrull showing up in the upcoming MCU Fantastic Four feature film, but we'll see. (I'd love to see the Super Skrull hypnotized to believe he's a cow in a pasture at the end of that film too.

It’s also kinda consistent with Happy being head of security for Stark Industries and his password being “password”, in Spider-Man FFH.
