I don’t know how you can replace Vigo Morrison hopefully they pick wisely they choose pretty good on Star Trek replacing Captain Kirk and Spark so maybe it can be good.

Like I said before, I don't mind the recasting. I'm unfamiliar with the actor and that's probably for the best. I was likewise unfamiliar with Viggo at the time and he worked out magnificently.

I'm still holding out for a surprise Viggo cameo to set-up the story.

His first major project was the film Cherry, directed by the Russo brothers and starring Tom Holland. Then, he appeared in 2 episodes of Vampire Academy on Peacock. He also played in 7 episodes of The White Lotus on HBO.
He appeared in 2 episodes of the very expensive show Citadel, which was sold with the idea of building a universe by the Russo brothers for Amazon. He also acted in the 14-episode Netflix mini-series One Day.
He appeared in the latest film of the Bridget Jones series, Bridget Jones: Mad About the Boy, released in 2025. Most recently, he took part in the audiobook versions of Harry Potter and starred in a mini-series called Vladimir alongside Rachel Weisz.

And for those wondering, Marigold is Sam's younger sister (yes, I had to look it up). Curious they don't include her surname. It is indeed odd there's no sign of Sean Astin but I wouldn't be surprised if he pops up.

I didn't expect to see Lee Pace returning as Thranduil but I'm thrilled to see him included.

Don't know who Halvard is (he doesn't come up at the One Wiki to Rule them All).

Edited to add: Oops, I can't read. Winslett isn't playing Marigold, she's playing Marigol. So who knows who that will be?

Jamie Dornan - who is best, known, for me, as,Sheriff Graham Humbert/The Huntsman from Once Upon a Time - is actually the perfect person to replace Viggo as Aragorn because they very much resemble one another.

It is on point that Jamie Dornan is being credited as "Strider" rather than "Aragorn". Also, I'm thrilled to see Lee Pace returning as well, but I'm disappointed to see that Cate Blanchett is not.

I haven't watched that show but I loved Dornan in Belfast and The Fall.

Yes! I loved that distinction, too. Strider was always my favorite version of Aragorn, too.

Like Astin, I wouldn't be surprised if she does return in some small capacity.

Maybe another Ranger? There was one who appeared in ROTK named Halbarad, which is very close to Halvard. Not sure what the latter would mean in Sindarin, though, so maybe he's just a generic Man they made up. Halvard sounds Norse, so maybe he's from Dale.

That's where I know him from. I knew I had seen him in something, but I couldn't remember where.
Lee Pace coming back is a pleasant surprise. So are Marigol and Halvard new characters then?

Halvard is Norwegian name (the most notable connection is an 11th century patron saint of Oslo) so the name use isn't surprising considering Middle-earth's roots. I had forgotten about Halbarad (I really need to reread the trilogy again...) and I am a bit surprised they're not using him (assuming Halvard is a Ranger, which would make sense).

That appears to be the case. The Hunt for Meaning of the New Ones.
