Poll Rank the Picard Seasons

Discovery makes Picard look really, really bad and that says something about it. Based on my thoughts about Discovery.

Disco 1: The show that Brian Fuller sorta maybe wanted. Kind of
Disco 2: The Unintended Prequel Season to Strange New Worlds
Disco 3-5: the actual show.

I agree with this assessment.

Oh oh, I want to rank all the shows combined now.

1. Disco S2 - Dumb as hell but rarely boring.
2. Picard S3 - Despite its issues it builds to proper payoffs.
3. Disco S1 - I'm not keen on the Klingons or Terrans, but it kept things interesting.
4. Picard S1 - Nepenthe's doing a lot of heavy lifting here.
5. Disco S5 - Love the adventurous tone, but the Moll and L'ak stuff drags it down.
6. Disco S4 - Proper sci-fi ideas, really unnatural dialogue.
7. Disco S3 - Started great, then drove right off a space cliff.
8. Picard S2 - I enjoyed this more than most perhaps, but c'mon.
9. SNW S2 - I really liked three stories, the rest not so much.
10. SNW S1 - So traditional that it has the traditionally weak season 1.

Though I haven't rewatched much of it since it came out. Only really Picard and maybe Disco's first season.

I'll die on the hill that while it's the worst season of PIC, S2 isn't bad. PIC S2 is still better than the entirety of DSC, and stands right about with mediocre seasons of other Trek.

I still say PS2 was the second-best live action season of Star Trek produced post-2005. You could do a lot with the shot material if you managed some editing and ADR to tighten things up.

PS1 has much lower lows.

I'm not 100% sure I agree totally with that, although probably pretty close. As much as I do enjoy PIC S2, I think S1 was better. I found PIC as a whole to be generally "Pretty good" and don't really see these crazy lows people talk about, especially in comparison to other live action Trek of the era. PIC S1 is by no means perfect, but it's good enough that i'm also willing to let alot of the bad slide, which I don't even think is that bad to begin with.

Going total live action... I would probably go...

PIC S3
PIC S1
SNW S1
PIC S2
SNW S2

And then idk. Discovery exists.

I'll give to the first season of SNW. It was overall pretty solid, to the point that if nuTrek had launched as THAT instead of Discovery, I would probably be overall alot more on board. Discovery caused like, soul damage and actively made me less interest in Star Trek overall.
