I must say, while clearly the weakest season of PIC with an obvious editing or pacing problem, I think Season 2 (even at the time) was unnecessarily overhated, has a lot of OK content forgotten about or slept on (with fears about ICE sadly confirmed true), and still ultimately a necessary bridge between the better received S1 & S3....

I would say it one of the weakest seasons of anything I've seen (that I would have some over or expectation of quality for). Rios plot is about the only decent one but not enough to balance all the utterly terrible decisions. Literally every other plot thread was horrendous.

It's nice to see this thread still getting attention two years after I started it...and how has it been two years? I was expecting maybe one...

Got the series on physical media for Christmas and have watched the first two seasons.

S2 was still disappointing, and there were some silly plotholes you could drive a truck through, but the end and beginning were pretty strong. And I did not have as visceral a negative reaction to some of it this time.

I wanted it to be really good and it just wasn't in stretches. If I had to pick my favorites from S2: "Farewell," "The Star Gazer," and "Mercy."

But I did like Rios' arc, Seven's arc, Jurati's arc, everything involving Orla Brady, shipped hard for Laris/JLP, and that the Q/Whoopie stuff was good as well. And blasting ICE.

My expectations were lower this time, and that helped.

But I certainly don't hate it. I don't hate any Trek.
