Picard film in development

She was an ensign.

If it set a couple of years after S3, she could be promoted to Lieutenant. And events of the film could then promote her to Lieutenant Commander.

But, yes, this is still the equivalent of Kirk going from cadet to captain.

Unfortunately, Elnor isn’t that much better of a choice.

Maybe move Mura to engineering, have Alandra as assistant engineer, and have Elnor at tactical?

Does a story really matter that much in a purely nostalgia driven project? Who cares about the plot? We need to get to the next reference or cameo! Followed by a little sound cue, just so the True Fans in the audience know they DID catch that reference!

It matters as a framing device. But, if you use PIC Season 3 as a template then you get mystery box, bring crew together, have a cameo with one clue, then a cameo with another clue and multiple starships in a battle.

All while not being too dark.

Then profits.

I’m reminded of the final season of the ‘80’s Transformers cartoon. It was only 3 episodes long, and they threw in EVERY character that they made a toy of at that time, regardless of if that character had anything to do with the plot (the ‘plot’ of which was paper-thin.) The show was always meant to be a big commercial for the toys, but the final season went so ridiculously overboard with that concept that it bordered on the absurd.

This is what a Trek production that shoehorns in every single character and reference would turn out to be. The only people interested in something like that would be the small percentage of Trek fans who know the Star Trek Encyclopedia like the back of their hand. The casual viewer who might be interested in trying out Trek will be overwhelmed and tune out.

I'm beginning to see the real reason why the TNG crew wasn't assimilated.

Getting them into Borg makeup would've taken up too much time. :shifty:

I want to print this out and stuff it in Terry Matalas' mailbox.

Unfortunately for Matalas, a) Paramount operates with a budget, and b) Trekkies aren’t going to just sit and watch bridge shot cameo after bridge shot cameo unfolding every five seconds like they’re all of a sudden on TikTok.

And frankly, the PIC movie just needs to crack the nuts of being a post-NEM movie actually set after NEM (unlike the Kelvinverse films), while also being a backdoor pilot for Legacy, and not be as lackluster as the previous two TNG film outings of INS and NEM (which currently seems like it will be modeled after S3).

And if Legacy is dependent on Seven, Raffi, Jack and Sydney being involved, then that’s all the PIC film needs to represent Legacy. The Ent-G and the rest of the crew are not needed. If the film is about exploring the Delta Quadrant after the events of VOY and PIC, then I don’t think it matters if it’s the Ent-D doing the exploring instead of the Ent-G. Its completely plausible for Seven to be brought onboard the Ent-D as an auxiliary/advisor for the Delta Quadrant, and for Raffi, Alandra, Sydney, and Jack join up due to romantic/family ties.

Legacy isn’t a thing.

And I’m still waiting for more info other than Stewart saying they gave him a script for something.

I doubt the D is coming back (not when the G is around).
