Picard film in development

He's not senile, but yes, sometimes he misunderstands things or misremembers or it takes him a while to get to the point (to be fair tho he has always loved telling long stories, so of course this is happening more and more now), which is entirely natural for a man his age.

Seasons two and three were filmed back-to-back.

I can see how he might've blurred things. It doesn't mean the man is senile.

I was not implying that he had full-blown Alzheimer's or anything. He clearly does not. But it's also pretty clear he's not 100% there mentally any longer, which is completely within the norm for a man in his 80s.

But, unfortunately, that means we can't just take Stewart at his word when be blurts something out in an interview any longer.

The man went through life not knowing if he was "snipped" or not.
Seems like it's just par for the course for him.

He did a long and detailed radio interview before the (admittedly funny) Graham Norton interview ever happened where he explained things a bit more detailed... AND explicitly, but for obvious reasons I can't go into those details here now because NSFW. ;) Let's just say it made sense for him to not know or even consider any other options, based on the infos he had. And he's not the only man who had this misconception for a long time. So no, this is not an indication of whether he knows what he's saying or not.

I know I'm just repeating what a few might've said already but I am not interested in anymore Star Trek with Picard as the main focus or the whole TNG crew "back for one more adventure". I mean, nothing I read suggested this movie was going to bring back everyone from TNG.

If anyone from the TNG crew were to make a guest cameo appearance in any new Star Trek material, I'd have been okay with this but a Picard movie? No, thank you!

Quite frankly, the only Picard film I'd be interested in is one that focused on Picard, the vintner. No (or very little) space. No significant role for any TNG character. (Laris would be okay.) Just Picard, managing his winery, getting into a competition with a rival (ideally, Ian McKellen) who Picard comes to realize is really his friend. More BBC/Masterpiece Theater style than the typical Star Trek style.

I'd love to see a new series pick up where season 3 of Picard left off with new adventures with the new crew of the Titan. Another Picard centered movie or show? Not so much. Not to say I never want to see him again. I can see him pop up in a future episode or something. I wouldn't mind seeing him put his diplomatic prowess to good use again negotiating some new treaty. We haven't seen much of that angle of Picard in a long time.

Jerry Seinfeld had the right idea when he ended Seinfeld on a high note. Season 3 of Picard ended up being a great send off. They ended things with Admiral Picard on a high note. I'd probably be thankful for that and let the next generation take over (excuse the pun :P )

I don't see a need for a Picard movie, well, one about Picard. But if they wanted to take the Star Trek: Legacy idea and turn that into a movie, now I think that would be neat.

If they do a Picard movie, Seven and the youngsters on the Enterprise-G may well be doing most of the heavy lifting.

The new Seven of Nine book Fire wall by David Mack has come out and if your a Seven fan the story is really good. You get her back story of joining the Fenris rangers . I'd still like to see a Picard movie with the younger crew members being a part of the movie .

Okay, I admit I have no idea how one could think one is circumcised when one isn’t. I dread to ask…

The SFW part of the answer I can give is that he remembered his mother telling him he was. But that's only part of the story, the rest borders too much on NSFW. If you really want to know the whole story you'll have to DM me. What I can also say is that it's really not anything bad. Just a rather unfortunate combo of facts and misinformation. And a lack of communication.

Is quite like another Picard movie. I don’t know about what; but I’d like one. Seems most are at best lukewarm to the idea?

I’d be okay with it. It could even potentially find a place at the box office, rather than go straight to streaming.

The last time we saw Picard in TNG, he was in a poker game with his crew in the series finale. Had everything ended there, that would have been a fine sendoff. But then we got Generations and three other movies. And look how that turned out.

The last time we saw Picard in PIC, he was in a poker game with his former crew in the series finale. If everything ends there, this would be a fine sendoff. But now Stewart is saying that they gave him a script for a new movie. What are the chances that things won't turn out exactly like what happened before? (That's assuming that he is still around to be able to star in said movie.)

It will probably be some Defenders-like film, even though it's marketed as a PIC film with another TNG reunion.

Picard, Beverly, Seven and the Ent-G go to the Delta Quadrant and encounter either rogue Changelings, or Zhat Vash, or (ideally) both. It would also cover the Borg as Picard and Seven get to see what really happened to them (i.e. the level of devastation inflicted on the Borg).

A recently promoted Captain Data with Geordi take the Ent-D out one more time.

Admiral Riker, Troi, and Kestra, and maybe Tuvok on a Luna class USS Titan-B. (I’d promote Troi to captain too, but I’m not sure if Marina Sirtis would want that or thinks it would make sense for Troi at all).

Worf and Raffi team up again and include Kira and Jake to get a mini DS9 reunion.

Harry Kim on the Stargazer, Jurati on the Singularity, Admiral Janeway on the Voyager-B, and Alexander Rozhenko on a Klingon BoP, and Sela on a Romulan BoP.

Wesley Crusher, Q, and maybe Guinan get involved accordingly (maybe the Prophets are why Q is dying, thus giving the audience a Sisko reference).

Maybe a mini VOY reunion at the Fleet Museum.

They'll probably also have a lot of callbacks to INS, as that’s the only TNG film not really followed up on by PIC. Maybe Soji goes rogue and enters the Delta Quadrant to deal with something related to her synth ambassador duties and that’s what sets the film in motion. Maybe there's a synth Tasha Yar, or a daughter of the Borg Queen and Locutus in the DQ that Soji is trying to find (I'm just spitballing. I have no idea if this would happen.).

And if the Defenders approach is successful with the PIC movie, Paramount will repeat the formula again. Possibly with the Discovery or SNW crews.

Ugh.
