Paramount/JJ trying another Trek movie (that will probably never get made).

Hollywood is a small town and rumors spread.

    I don't know. I didn't ask him. J. Claude Deering asked him.

Specifically, it was something "he heard":

Also: While Chris Pine would intrinsically be approached for every Kelvin Enterprise movie to be made, and would know more than most, he has a close tie to every Discovery project as well, through his long-time girlfriend Annabelle Wallis (voice of Zora, which seems to be a major character at the end of Season 3 and going forward).

I doubt Will Decker is coming back in any way, shape or form. To resurrect the character would just draw attention to the original actor and his crimes.

Decker was just proto-season 1 Riker anyway. Create someone new, or bring back someone else.

Always thought Armie Hammer would've made a great Decker 2.0..

That seems... Unlikely, given his current situation.

I'd say you could get him for the price of a good meal but, uh, considering what that meal may be...

The guy talked about Fantasizing about it, not actually doing it.

Obviously, he needs counseling for what ever Devils are bothering him, not condemnation for admitting he's got problems.

I thought he admitted to actually having done it?

I don't know details, I just saw the headlines, and I don't think it really matters for this conversation. Maybe he'll have a rebound later but for now his career is in a toilet and I don't see Paramount tapping him to lead a Trek show/movie.

I think there's some confusion here. Mr. Collins publicly confessed to People Magazine about his sexual misconduct (exposing himself) to three young girls. He hasn't acted since, and apparently any criminal charges were dropped due to statutes of limitations.

Mr. Hammer has denied the text messages describing extreme fantasies of his in private conversations with ex-girlfriends. He has denied pretty much any wrongdoing, although he saw fit to drop out of all his upcoming projects to focus on his family (and his talent agency and publicist saw fit to drop him). It's still early days, but it's very unlikely that his career will recover given how extreme some of those leaked fantasies are.

Yes, I've had a fun afternoon studying the backgrounds of both these grand figures. Now I'm going to take a shower.

Indeed. In today's climate where any given celebrity can suddenly turn out to be an awful person I rarely raise an eyebrow. Reading about Hammer actually made me slightly raise both. Slightly.

Imagine if back in the 50's the general public knew that Rock Hudson was Gay...

Things like that don't really change, they've just become stranger and stranger.

Which is why few celebrities are heroes or role models to me.

"It's my estimation that every man ever got a statue made of him was one kind of sommbitch or another."

    - One not so well known sommbitch to a well known sommbitch, reciting lines written by another sommbitch.

    "Here lies a toppled god
His fall was not a small one
    We but built his pedestal
A narrow and a tall one"

    - Another sommbitch who married his wife's 20 something nurse he'd been having an affair with after she finally died

I am my own role model. By which I mean, I have a standard of being a good person and I try to adhere to it and measure my actions by it.
