Deering: Are you working with Tarantino on the next Star Trek, what is the latest?
Pine: I haven’t heard anything. I mean, I get asked these questions all the time. I’m like the last person to find anything out. So, I’ve heard, what have I heard? Tarantino is going to do one. And then, who is it? Noah Hawley was going to do something else, and then that fell through. And then he’s going to do something with the Discovery, the new Alex Kurtzman-led cast. So, I really don’t know. I know that Paramount is coming out of having restructured a bit and kind of a major corporate restructuring. So hopefully when all that dust settles, something concrete will come out of it and we’ll get to work. I’d love to do it.
I doubt Will Decker is coming back in any way, shape or form. To resurrect the character would just draw attention to the original actor and his crimes. This idea has just popped into my head, but if they can't get Pine, Qunito, etc to sign on for another film, then why not have Will Decker take command of the NuE-A, they could have Ilia and Saavik (or maybe even make Xon canon) and any of the cast that wanted to return, as well as create new characters.
Granted might not have the character appeal or familiarity of Kirk, Spock and McCoy, but it would be a fun way to go, rather than recasting and/or revamping once again.
Always thought Armie Hammer would've made a great Decker 2.0..
That seems... Unlikely, given his current situation.
He's probably pretty cheap these days.
I thought he admitted to actually having done it?The guy talked about Fantasizing about it, not actually doing it.
Obviously, he needs counseling for what ever Devils are bothering him, not condemnation for admitting he's got problems.

Thanks for the clarifications.I think there's some confusion here. Mr. Collins publicly confessed to People Magazine about his sexual misconduct (exposing himself) to three young girls. He hasn't acted since, and apparently any criminal charges were dropped due to statutes of limitations.
Mr. Hammer has denied the text messages describing extreme fantasies of his in private conversations with ex-girlfriends. He has denied pretty much any wrongdoing, although he saw fit to drop out of all his upcoming projects to focus on his family (and his talent agency and publicist saw fit to drop him). It's still early days, but it's very unlikely that his career will recover given how extreme some of those leaked fantasies are.
Thanks for the clarifications.
Yes, I've had a fun afternoon studying the backgrounds of both these grand figures. Now I'm going to take a shower.
Which is why few celebrities are heroes or role models to me.Indeed. In today's climate where any given celebrity can suddenly turn out to be an awful person I rarely raise an eyebrow. Reading about Hammer actually made me slightly raise both. Slightly.

We gotta go to the crappy town where I'm a hero!"It's my estimation that every man ever got a statue made of him was one kind of sommbitch or another."
