Orphan Black - Season 3 Discussion

^Yeah, but at least being nominated means she's getting some recognition that I think she richly deserves.

I should be a lot happier about this, but the only thing I can think of is finally. Took them 3 years to figure out what everyone else knew after year 1. Better late than never.

But what about Best Supporting Actress and Best Guest Star? :bolian:

That should come. Actually, I kind of wish Gavaris got more recognition than he does. It feels like the rest of the cast is overshadowed by Maslany's brilliance, but Gavaris (And to a lesser extent, Braun) are really really good.

Game of Thrones will probably win everything anyway. :klingon:

I remember The Sopranos continually sweeping the Emmys just because it was a daring, popular HBO show, despite there being better acting going on elsewhere. For the two years Joan of Arcadia was on the air, Amber Tamblyn was (IMHO), the most brilliant, award-worthy actor on TV. But Edie Falco kept winning best actress for just standing around the kitchen whining. I didn't get it.

I think Morpheus was joking that Maslany herself should be nominated for Lead, Supporting, and Guest.

Well, semi-joking, as Rachel is not the lead character, and that performance in particular is spectacular to me (as it's the cold Rachel from last season, but with an extreme physical condition, kinda like Gabby Giffords, and Maslany effectively shows that).

But the Academy lists the performace as " Tatiana Maslany as Alison/ Cosima/ Helena/ Rachel and Krystal/ Sarah - See more at: http://www.emmys.com/awards/nominees-winners#sthash.Tyb0L29y.dpuf", so I'm cool with that situation. re they still voting on the actual winner? If so -- seems like a social media campaign is in order.

I also do agree with sjsharksfan. If Tatiana wins this category, hopefully that will open the doors to Jordan Gervais getting recognized.

^Yeah... the award is for lead actress, not lead character. Maslany is the lead no matter which character she's playing.

A bit late, but for those UKers who have been awaiting season 3, it looks like BBC3 are airing them starting 27th September - at 02:10 (at least according to my Tivo box)

Two episodes on that Sunday, two on Monday (at 01:30), two on Tuesday (at 01:25) then back to Saturday (at 02:00)

:(

Sorry to bump up a thread, but I'm doing a couple of things. I'm testing to see if I can post youtube media right, and I wanted to share this hour and a half interview that Tatiana did yesterday. I gained even more respect for her than I did before. She's so humble and serves as a great role model.

Also, it sounds like we might be getting the new season in March. That's exciting. I recently did a rewatch of Season 3 and I enjoyed it more this time around than I did before. Really looking forward to season 4.

They are filming through March and haven't given an official date but I'd assume it's April like ever other year. I think they have always finished filming the series before it airs.

Based on the interview they had just finished episode 7. I'm assuming it will be April but I would be thrilled if it did premiere it in March.

Which was your favorite, 3?

Not sure -- probably 2. It's the relationships among the sisters that make the show work best for me, despite it being the kind of dark and grim and violent show I don't generally care for, and I think those were best-developed in season 2. Plus, clone dance party.

Season 1 seemed daring to me, it was different and dark and fun and I couldn't wait to see what happened next and I binged the whole season in like a day.

Season 2 felt like a decent continuation, but slightly off. Season 3 to me was a bit of a disappointment, the Castor storyline seemed useless, the whole silliness of the original mother / father of the clones was ridiculously over the top silliness. I ended up watching it because I have a crush on Jordan Gavaris

Man I can't wait. We're starting to get new stuff now and I'm getting really excited.
