Original Superhero?

Can an original superhero be created in this day and age with out it being similar to previous ones?

If someone has super-anything it can be compared to Superman or various DC & Marvel characters...or is it ok and would people be interested?

Any hero with gadgets would seem like Batman...would people get passed it if the character & story is compelling?

I dont see why not. Gadgets aren't the only thing that defines Batman. Of course if Gadget Man is a billionaire who's parents were brutally murdered and wears a dark costume to inspire fear... well, that might invite comparison.

I don't recall ever seeing a superhero who helps people and fights crime with a variety of materials that he urinates, and has perfect control over the pressure of his super-strong bladder and urethra.

What? I'm just sayin'.
