Bev not turning bi all of a sudden has nothing to do with any phobia.
Having ones own sexual preferences is not homophobia or transphobia. Everybody is entitled to say no to / not be attracted to whoever they want.Beverly Crusher.
They stuck her boyfriend's soul inside a monkey and she spanked it for half a week.
That was a temp fix, but the final solution was to stuff her boyfriend inside a girl.
The Boyfriend, now with ladyparts, was told to move along.
TNG The Host s04e23.
It seems like transphobia now, but at the time 30 years ago, it looked like homophobia, or just simply a dislike of committing homosexual acts.
Picard Frenched it up!it all depends if Bajayzl's club was french enough

As for Riker...having sex with him seemed a little weird for her but wasn't a deal breaker. Read from that what you will.

I see what you did there. And it's not French enough.

Riker only submitted to being a boytoy gimp, because Beverly swore black and Blue that she Loved this fellah perfectly and eternally.
Riker is the truly besmirched party.
That's one way of putting it.Riker, I am sure, is a generous lover, open to everyone.
eh, Berman was pretty hands on on that show. The writers could have had all the balls in the world, Berman wouldn't have agreed.
That's one way of putting it.
(There have been arguments that he might conceivably be pansexual. I just prefer to think that gender, for Riker, might not be that important a thing in some circumstances.)

With an intelligent, passionate, powerful, and near immortal sentient energy being living inside a candle. Also, Kira's soulmate was a bucket of goo? Keats was seduced by a space-vampire. Apollo, toga and all, was an alien. Uh...yeah.Dr. Crusher once had an affair with a candle. Canon!
That Vibrated and could appear anywhere she wanted.![]()

Same here. Being betrayed by a friend can be every bit as painful as being betrayed by a lover. And this is one of the reasons I don't think they were lovers:I honestly didn't get the impression that they were a couple, but just close friends.
Agreed. Bjayzl strikes me as someone sadistic enough to use any and every available weapon against Seven when the chance presented itself. If they were exes, she would have twisted that knife as brutally as she possibly could. She certainly didn't hold back with what we saw in the episode.Given Bjayzl's personality, I think she would have taunted Seven about a sexual relationship if they'd had one. She was trying to be as cruel to Seven as possible in the handcuffs scene and if she had intimate ammo she should have fired it.
I couldn't possibly agree more with this. I agree with the rest of your post as well, but this bit in particular bears repeating.I would hope by the 24th/25th century homophobia isn’t a thing.
If indeed there was any intent for Seven to be lesbian or bi back in the day, it wouldn't have been the writers lacking "cohones". The UPN suits would have been the ones quashing anything along those lines, as they quashed so many other things that the writers tried to work into the show.I just regret that the VOY writers didn't have the cohones to push this angle back in the late 90s.
Terrible acting, awful writing, meaningless dialogs, not one memorable or intelligent thing uttered by any of the characters, including Picard
