Neelix and Kes was a better pairing than Paris and Kes, Seven and Chokotay, Janeway and Chakotay or Picard and Beverly.

I actually forgot which thread this was the prompt for contraversy. But never mind. You didn't exactly set a high bar.![]()
Relationships are not Trek's strong suite.
Agreed. Romance in STAR TREK was usually not great, though a few exceptions worked well.Generally speaking, it has been pretty rough across six decades when dealing with romantic relationships. There were a few good one-shot romances, like Timicin and Lwaxana Troi from "Half a Life".
Ben and Kasidy. Miles and Keiko. Worf and Jadzia.
Ben and Kasidy Yates felt forced. I don't think Miles and Keiko even liked each other. Worf and Jadzia just fed into fandom's image of Jadzia as a Klingon party girl.
None of them really worked for me.
)Stamets and Culber don't exactly have a romantic relationship or one which seems like they even feel physically attracted to each other.

Really? I thought all three were done well, especially Miles and Keiko. More so over the years, espeically after being married. (In 6 months, it'll be 15 years.)

I'll keep that in mind if I ever get there. Im still working on getting past the eye contact stage.Welcome to marriage. It ain't all banging!![]()
I liked how we got some of the little 'day in the life' moments with them. Like when we just see them brushing their teeth and talking about their day. Little scenes like that go a long way with how you connect with characters and their interactions. Personally, I thought they were a good couple, and we saw some of the ups and downs with them. Seemed pretty realistic to me.Stamets and Culber don't exactly have a romantic relationship or one which seems like they even feel physically attracted to each other. But season 3 onwards they are certainly stable and drama free.
Awesome! Congratulations, man!First thirty years are the hardest!

I do agree with you on that. They are a good healthy relationship in this comfortable love sort of way. I guess I'm just more accustomed to seeing romance in a romance but perhaps their's is a more realistic presentation.I liked how we got some of the little 'day in the life' moments with them. (When we see a couple have no issues or are portrayed as a little too perfect for each other, it loses a lot of credibility because there is no such thing as a perfect couple.)
Glory to you... (opens eyes as wide as Gowron's)Spite is a powerful emotion. Everyone on my wife's side of the family were convinced we wouldn't make it. We showed them.![]()
