No more Klingon Empire?!!

OK, I'll start off by saying that, I knew that going in. Still, this was an awesome series that I finally got around to reading through since we were in the middle of our TrekLit dry spell. I loved it and I hate that it ended with hanging threads. I want to know what happened to Rodek/Kurn and read more of the adventures of the Gorkon. Since I've read everything there is related to the Gorkon and its crew, and since KRAD hasn't published anything Trek related in about a decade, the excellent The Klingon Art of War excepted, I guess I'll just have to live on with my memories.

I just want to say that I loved this series, I hated to see it end, and I hope that some day in the not too distance future, KRAD will return to the TrekLit fold.

I agree, I almost didn't want to reread the Gorkon novels last year because then I would get cranky because I miss the characters

agreed - they finished prematurely, and were far superior to the SGZ series which had 7 novels

I agree with everything said here.

I hope there will be more from KRAD and the Klingon Empire going forward.

I would also like to see more novels from KRAD featuring Federation politics.

KRAD stands for quality. I love all his Klingon stories I've read so far. And I still have three Gorkon novels to read. I'm looking forward to it. So the lack of new novels is no problem for me. ;) :klingon:

Yep. The expansion from IKS Gorkon to Klingon Empire opened up a whole new realm of possibility — and gave us some good examples — and then poof, it was gone. No disrespect intended to writers who are also good people, but I’d give up some New Frontier and Stargazer for more Klingon Empire. And hell, I’m not done with Seekers, either, dammit.

To be fair, we haven't had any Stargazer since Klingon Empire vanished, and only two New Frontier novels (plus three eBooks), so I don't think they're the problem.

Am I wrong, or is Titan the only Treklit-original concept still going these days?

I think so if Seekers don't continue

AFAIK, Rise of the Federation is continuing. I hope so, anyways. So far, all we know for sure is Discovery, TOS, and TNG novels are coming next year.

Rise of the Federation is under the “Star Trek Enterprise” banner, though. It doesn’t really count as a TrekLit original series.

I don't think we can really draw on recent history for an indication of the health of the various lines. One of the most recent novels was the first Titan novel in over two years. The lack of Seekers had as much to do with David Mack being tied up with his original trilogy (not to mention S31 and DSC) as much as anything else, unless they've said something I missed about the series laying an egg, sales-wise. Heck, there weren't any TOS novels in '17, and that's the last series they'll stop making novels for.
