Night Court revival

All I want is Spiner to reprise his role. Not those BBT people.
That already happened. It aired back in March.

I rather liked the episode, although it was the tiniest bit traumatic for reasons I don't talk about. Extremely far-fetched, with Bialik playing a Method-acting caricature of herself, but Night Court is all about far-fetched caricatures.

Now, can we have a chorus of "Soft Kitty" (in TlInganaase)?

more a Blossom appreciation
I think I saw tiny bits of episodes of Blossom, barely enough to remember that there was a character named "Six." (And what was up with that? Is it a reference to 5, and his sisters 3 and 4, from Peanuts?)

I will admit that Ms. Bialik was even cuter then (as an actual teenager, playing a teenager, a bit of a novelty, considering that the Sweathogs were all in their 20s when Welcome Back, Kotter debuted) than she is now. And I note that it was produced by some of the same people who brought us Benson and The Golden Girls.

With God as my witness, the first time I even heard of a series called "Blossom," my first thought was that it was something to do with the jazz singer, Blossom Dearie (her actual birth name, BTW).

Oh, and I liked her brief stints hosting Jeopardy! -- although I think the producers made the right move in hiring Ken Jennings full-time. She certainly did a better job than a lot of the candidates (I love LeVar Burton as much as I love any ST cast member, and I love the fact that he spent 23 years hosting Reading Rainbow, and made an appearance on Mister Rogers' Neighborhood, but all he did on Jeopardy! was embarrass himself.

And I wasn't even aware that Melissa Rauch had been a regular on The Big Bang Theory. I saw slightly more of that series than I did Blossom. But only slightly.

I never watched the show, as far as I can recall (I never liked Bialik much), but Wikipedia says "In the pilot, she alludes to the fact that she was named Six because of the number of beers her father drank in order to get her mother pregnant. A later explanation is that she was the sixth child in her family, although none of her siblings are ever seen."

I found the same tidbit myself, although I somehow missed it the first time I looked at the Wikipedia article. (Just as I somehow missed the fact that Mariner's two death scenes in the first hidden track of Warp Your Own Way are slightly different.)

Oddly enough, one of the few things I remember about 'Blossom' is where 'Six' got her name from.

I couldn't even remember its name. I was thinking along the lines of, "What was that sitcom Bialik was in? Was it Punky Brewster?" I mainly know Bialik from the annoying recurring character she played in a few MacGyver episodes.

Never saw Blossom, but I'm a huge BBT fan. Mayim was quite amazing on that show. I was surprised to hear that she didn't like to watch her own performances, I enjoyed her subtlety and expressions so much.

And I probably saw more of her hosting Jeopardy! than on all her scripted shows combined. (Fun fact: Art Fleming, the original host of Jeopardy!, would have celebrated his 100th birthday last year. Tragic fact: Both Fleming and Trebek died of pancreatic cancer.)

"Huh. So dancing can be non-sexual."

Never watched Blossom or The Big Bang Theory so I don't really care one way or the other, but I did enjoy the caricature of the actress, much like Only Murders in the Building does.

Wendie Malick continues to slay as Juliette and I love her dynamic with everyone in the cast.

Speaking of Punky Brewster, the creator of the show passed away yesterday at the age of 78.

Another Big Bang actor popped in. One of the crazy candle women, Lauren Lapkus, was in season 11 & 12 of BBT as Stuart's comic shop assistant and girlfriend. (and in one of those cosmic coincidences, we'd just watched the S11 finale of BBT the day before. Hey look! It's Stuart's GF! )
