Night Court revival

Got to visit the set. Never seen a sitcom set before so that was fun.

I remember reading that the original show's sets were all interconnected just like they were in-story, which I found impressive. It looks like they faithfully recreated that in the new show. It's nice to finally see what that looks like, so thanks for the photos.

That is awesome!
One of the greatest things this revival did was an almost exact duplication of original sets. The green chairs in cafeteria are the same! As proof that most of original cast was really tall, short Melissa Rauch said her legs dangled when sitting in those chairs. The green couch was original in Harry s chamber too.

I saw someone on Facebook suggest today that these episodes could be added to original series for syndication. Does syndication even exist anymore? I have read that was possible if The Next Generation only last a season or two. Added to reruns of TOS. In this case it actually makes more sense, there are carry over characters and the location is exactly the same!

I think the show has grown a lot in quality but suspected all season NBC would cancel it due to ratings. So was surprised that there was all this press for Melissa s Big Bang co star but not in most of episode...

Cliffhanger... seriously! They had to see this coming. I am guessing they hope Warner Bros does a hard sell to get it picked up. But usually only happens for more success shows. Confession I have never seen complete Big Bang Theory episode. Though have become huge fan of Melissa Rauch from this. I never had problem with her co stars appearing from that. Certainly if it helped ratings. But clearly it did not. Apparently plan was for her surprise husband, notice I do not know most of that casts names, to have significant recurring role in a season four. So it was not just a gimmick ending.

It would be nice to get a pickup somewhere else but that’s rare.

NBC just announced the cancellation of Night Court. I hope Warner shops it around and a streaming service or even another network takes up a fourth season, because now we need some resolution on that third season cliffhanger.

Plus, it would just royally suck for a Night Court to be unceremoniously cancelled without a series finale. :(

Look at the stuff they broadcast. It seems to all be scripted reality shows or dramas about cops, first responders, lawyers, medicine and crime. It's uncommon to see something not included in that sentence like well written comedies or SciFi.

I have no interest in any of that. I'm not the only one since the networks continually complain about their ratings.

Exactly. Just because the original was on NBC there was no advantage to this revival being on the current NBC. Through out the 80s and 90s it was the home of the some of the most iconic sitcoms of all time. Often multiple on the same nights. So much so that their hits often keep mid level shows going for many years just by schedule placement. Current NBC is nothing like that at all.

Only way I could watch the show was through a Peacock subscription. A few days ago the 2nd season of Poker Face began . Which is great. But seems like a total aberration. It’s the only Peacock specific series I even know about. I will be able watch under current subscription for a couple more weeks. But reluctant to pay for rest of season until July. Probably cancel and watch all I miss later at once.

Peacock just seems like one streamer too many. I feel like most can just go onto Hulu and fill that one out
