There were still other options to use, such as the tailback getting a pitch or swing pass. The Ravens' D has decent speed, but Chris Perry seems to have enough speed to stand a better chance of getting the needed yardage. Better than going up the middle.

I loved seeing the Ravens players dousing Harbaugh. Good to see such a veteran laden team recognize such a good and important occasion, to baptize him into the team's spirit. Harbaugh must really be doing a heckuva great job of coaching there, if he can engender such good nature in them

Ravens win their opener!

Congrats to Joe Flacco and Harbaugh! Really surprised and impressed by Flacco's composure, the performance of the rookie Ray Rice (let's ignore the turnover ) and the young O-line. Oh, and D-Fence! D-Fence! D-Fence! :techman:

I'm going to go ahead and savor this, as I only expect another 3 or 4 W's this season. :borg:

Joe Fucking Flacco. :D

But, of course, I didn't watch it since it's on at the same time as the Eagles. It's not easy to tell how well they did because the Rams defense was absolutely terrible, but it's looking like a good season so far.

So many people were talking about Darren McFadden, and rightfully so, when the Raiders picked him. But I'm telling you, don't forget about his running mate at Arkansas: Felix Jones. This kid has been looking very good today in the game between Dallas and Cleveland.

Well there are reports coming out, I don't know if they are true or not...that Brady has a torn ACL. FUCK FUCK FUCK!!!:scream::scream::scream:

I only have one thing to say.

Karma's a bitch, ain't it?

Karma due to the 16-0, or Karma from loosing the Superbowl? Oh, you're referring to the "Spygate" thing again, how original, how interesting.

Seeing as how Spygate had everything to do with Bill Belichick, and nothing to do with Tom Brady, then ya, I guess Karma is great. Please continue to make your uninformed observations.

Karma due to the arrogant 'holier-than-thou' attitude I have seen from Belichek, Brady, and the Patriots organization as a whole. Not to mention the attitude that I've seen from a large portion of their fanbase.

On one hand, that doesn't disappoint me because it'll weaken the Pats... on the other hand, it makes me weep for one of my fantasy football teams... I had someone willing to trade me Brady for my Cutler. He could have been huge. :(

Yeah, I guess having a future HOF quarterback, HOF coach, and winning makes opposing fans feel that way.

I am not rude nor do I have a holier-than-thou to fans of other teams. The Patriots have what is called confidence, because they know their system of player development and game plans have created a team that can call themselves the best team in the NFL year in and year out, and I suppose that the fans of other teams don't like that. Trust me, I realize Bill Belichick is not the nicest guy on the face of the planet, but the man is a football genius and I would not want anyone else as the coach of that team. The Pats don't act like they are entitled to anything. They play as hard as they can every game, and that results in wins.

So they're saying a torn ACL (at minimum) for Brady.

Having been through that in May '07, as much as I hate the Pats, I feel for the guy personally. Tough break.

All I can say is Daunte Culpepper may just be coming out of retirement as soon as he went into it...

The Pats are more then just Brady however, and with their receiving corps, they can make okay QBs look pretty good. I think they will still be competitive, and hopefully Cassell can step it up.

Cassell did step up today. Give him credit.

Although I think you're right - Culpepper might on the Pats speed dial.

I liked Tom Brady until last year, when he was walking around headbutting his O-line after throwing his fifth touchdown against a sub-.500 team. I hope he recovers, but frankly, his injury makes the season more exciting for me. If he's down, then the seemingly clear-cut Patriot domination of the AFC comes into doubt.

Not that I care that much, I'm too busy getting drunk because my beloved Seahawks were humiliated today by the Bills. The fucking Toronto Bills.

Yahoo Sports is reporting Brady is done for the year.

While I don't like him or the Patriots, I do hate to see anyone go down like that.

Maybe the Rams could send over Trent Green in exchange for SOMEONE WHO CAN PLAY SOME F*&%ING PASS DEFENSE!!!

:scream:

Sorry about that....

As a Pats fan residing in Indianapolis, I can promise you that tomorrow is going to be a very, very LONG day for me at the hospital.

On Thursday, I was talking to a security officer and told him that I thought both Manning and Brady were going to go out today because of their existing injuries. Had no idea...

NBC is saying that Chris Simms is on his way to NE for a workout and physical tomorrow... though I admit that Culpepper came to my mind.. as did Bledsoe (if he'd come back) and, yes, Flutie.

Rob+

Chris Simms? It's gonna be weird seeing him if he plays.

The Bears D looks really good tonight. I don't think Manning is going to get a touchdown all game.
