flaming liberal is the ravens fan.

Yeah, that's what I figured. As I understand it, Boller started the game and I guess Troy Smith is second. I kinda wonder how much playing time their planned QB of the future will get tonight.

What's this I hear about the NFL curtailing the tailgating in stadium parking lots? I had heard a blurb on Robin Meade's show this morning, then found an article here. Apparently, this restriction aplies only during the game, not before and after. And if you have a ticket to said game, you can still tailgte to your hearts' content. Yet it still seems like more of the "No Fun League" coming around again.

Stupid raiders for winning, stupid raiders for not selling out, and stupid NFL for still having asinine blackout rules even though it's preseason. Well, at least the Niners have 3 more preseason games to go. I'm not entirely sure how the QBs did and I don't think stats tell the whole story.

...and stupid NFL for still having asinine blackout rules ...
Just looked up "blackout rules", and that is bull. I'm glad that I live 25 miles out of Denver's "local" zone, but I think that it's crap that locals can't watch games if there are still tickets.

The Raider game is going really well. I hope they can stay that good.
I was watching the opening ceremonies last night and recorded the game. Haven't watched it yet. But from what I've read, Michael Bush, the unofficial, but soon to be recognized, steal of the draft two seasons ago, looked good. Same for other backs, Justin Fargas, Darren McFadden, along with the O line, also looked good. But the post game grades weren't so good for JaMarcus.

I'm going to watch my recording today.

Just watched the last half of the Denver/ Houston game. Not overly impressed, but not overly worried yet either. Just a very slow moving game. I was impressed with Woodyard- his name was showing up at all a bunch of good times, which is always pleasing. Hope to see him during the season. I liked that final stand Denver made, and it's good to know that they can still hold people up in the Red zone, even if they can't stop them elsewhere. My major pissing point- 13+ penalties. Come on guys.

Denver and Houston both looked a little rusty. Houston certainly hasn't picked up on the ZBS yet, as our running the ball was the usual Houston crap. We can't. AhMon-I'm-Injured Green hurt himself on his first carry.

Our first round pick this year Duane Brown held his own on the O-Line, which is a good sign, because Denver has a good D-Line. Houston's offensive looks to be the same as last year, we do pretty well throwing the ball and getting downfield, but not running or punching it in the end zone.

Damn, Houston's got a fine FG kicker though. :techman:

What little Mario Williams played, he played very well. Look out NFL, because Mario is gonna make all you nay sayers about drafting him instead of Vince Young or Reggie Bust look bad. Mario is a beast.

^I'm going to assume that you watched the whole game, correct? How did Denver's first team crew (offence and defence) hold up? It sounds like the very first drive was pretty impressive, but I haven't heard much else.

Denver's first team offensive looked better than Houston's because Denver could run the ball better. But Houston looked better as far as passing goes. Denver's first team defense stuffed our running game, but since everyone in the NFL can stuff Houston's running game I'm not sure what that means. Houston's 1st, 2nd and 3rd team offensives could pass on Devner, but it didn't translate into but one touchdown.

I'd say both teams showed up a bit rusty for their first game out of camp. What won the game was Houston has a much better FG kicker than Denver.

As far as Denver's first posession, it was three and out, they got their TD (1st sring) on their 2nd and final possession before the subs came in. We got our TD with our 3rd string offense and kicked more FGs.

Well, considering that Denver couldn't stop anyone's rush last year, I will take that as a good sign. Maybe this new defensive coordinator may be a good one.

You know what's funny about Houston and Denver? I've visited a Denver football BBS (can't remember which one) and Denver fans call Houston "Denver Lite". Houston fans call Denver "Houston North".

Shanny's son is our offensive coordinator now, and was actually calling some of the plays last night. He's the youngest OC in the league at 29. Our teams are definately "connected".

I certainly appreciate having Kubiak and Rick Smith. Houston is a much better organization with those two running it.

Watching the Denver/ Dallas game. First, dammit, what is with those freaking penalties?!? Absolute stupidity.

When they aren't doing penalties, the offense is looking great. They drove down the field very nicely both drives so far.

Andre Hall: Holy crap, I had forgotten all about him! He is a tough little bastard!

Woohoo, Niners!

Yeah, except for the announcer spoiling the phelps race. Of all places, I had to get spoiled watching a preseason football game.

Anyway, yeah good win from the Niners. They looked strong when I was watching them.

Good grief!

My beloved Rams look even worse than last year so far. Bulger was terrible yesterday (against San Diego's scrubs).

:scream:
