NFL 2017 Season

I've spent a disturbingly large amount of time in New York and New Jersey many long years ago - more's the pity - those people are some crazy motherfuckers. If they're smart, every single member of the Giants' front office should flee the country.

Sadly, I fear I'm going to have to retire my favorite Eli pic soon:

Puts a smile on my face every time I see it.

Bah. Corporate speak/happy horseshit/word salad from John Mara who seems a little surprised by fans' overwhelming hostility to the Eli debacle.

Three billboards reading “Big Blue Shame On You,” written in a font to mock the Giants’ team logo, were seen on the side of highways in North Jersey, not far from MetLife Stadium, on Wednesday.

IBM be all like "what did we do?"

"We don't know exactly what we're doing".

Bigly. Or should I say, Biggly.

Well! If there's ever been a truer statement to come out of someone's mouth...

The words of a man who knows he's getting shitcanned on Black Monday.
I think the Bears have at least one more good week in store against a 1-10 SF. After that it's the 5-6 Bengles, which could go either way.

A lot can be read into that unintentionally amusing statement which could easily impact team morale adversely, potentially making it a self-fulfilling prophecy.

Ah...Yes, that's never a good sign. I expect similar things may come out of New York in the coming weeks, too, with Eli's benching. I get the impression they simply won't play for the management any more and will get all passive-aggressive on the field and in the locker room, much like what happened in Philly the season of Andy Reid's departure (right after the death of his son, no less!), as well as Dallas with Wade Phillips. When the players start in-fighting and not showing up to play in their heads, it's time for new management, straight-up.

Same kind of shit-talking and in-fighting's been happening inside Denver too, another franchise in great need of a change of leadership. John Elway's too busy mugging in commercials for local companies to run his fucking team! Before too long, none of those small companies will want to have anything to do with him and then he'll just blink and say "whahhappened?!?"

At this point, I'm fully expecting Elway to take over as the head coach--and flame out, spectacularly--because of his need to prove that he "knows quarterbacks" or whatever shit.

The Detroit Silverdome held up better than any defense that ever played in it.

Rams win!

First winning season since 2003.

Now a brutal stretch: Philly, Seattle, and Tennessee.

Oh, and Rob Gronkowski is a little bitch. His hit on White today was beyond dirty.

Sean McVay has Coach of the Year wrapped up. By the way, the Titans aren't nearly as good as their record suggests; LA will have no trouble with them.

If Fox still has a job Tuesday, I'll take it as proof positive that the McCrapsky's don't give 1 little shit about winning.

Not that that any new coach will succeed as long as the team is owned by that family.

There's an outside shot that Fox survives, if for no other reason that no one is going to look at the Bears and see an appealing destination: Their drafting has been horrid and as a result the team has absolutely no depth, they'd be working for a GM who is already known to be on borrowed time (George McCaskey almost cleaned house at the end of last season), and institutionally, around the league the Bears are seen as a toxic organization.

Ernie Accorsi is apparently in charge of the Giants' GM and head coach searches.

... good luck, Giants?

Looks like 1 game suspension for Gronk's late hit. Will see if he appeals/it is reduced to a fine, but ok with the outcome. Shitty play, not called for. I get that he gets frustrated with bullshit Offensive PI calls (literally didn't even make contact on the last one), but you can't randomly try to kill a guy to make up for it...

That said, it's against Miami next, so not a bad spot for him to take a week off. Need him back for the Steelers game.
