That was not a pretty game. Then again, I've seen worse. I remember when it seemed like nothing could go right for the Hawks. Then it seemed like nothing could go wrong. Now, we're going through a rough patch. We'll find our way again. 
I saw a bit of the game on Red Zone. That was ugly. Couldn't happen to a nicer group of guys.
Hell of a Pats/Steelers game, lived up to the hype. Thought the Pats (well, Gronk) ran away with that one at the end, and then suddenly they can't stop a 5 yard slant from being a 77 yard run. Then the TD that wasn't a TD.
Enjoyable amount of whining from Steelers Nation on that one, but seems pretty clear with the rule: receiver has to take the ball to the ground (or catch and run for a second, or whatever to be come a runner); he was kinda diving to catch it and then lunged for the end zone as part of the motion. All good until he hit the ground and lost the ball for a second. Ask Dez, not a catch (although Dez probably had it longer). Goal line doesn't matter, he was falling as he caught it, so has to hold onto it. Didn't. Certainly looked like a catch, so NFL may need to scrub things again to clear things up, but not much argument that the rules were applied correctly.
And then fake spike play, turned into interception. Looked like about 3 people knew it was a fake, everyone else just stood there. As a rule, though, if an interception will ice the game, don't get anywhere near Harmon. Guy seems to be invisible for most of the game (every game), but then when the game is on the line, he's coming out of nowhere and suddenly holding the ball. I'd have to look up how many of his interceptions ended a game, but it's gotta be at least 75% of them. Ball hawk when it matters!
Great game, can't wait for the (probable) rematch in January. Plus, always enjoy the pissy attitude from Tomlin after a game; he's always shocked he lost, can't figure out what happened, and is a d-bag about it.

You made the the AFC Championship game in the early-80's. Dave Kreig and Curt Warner played for them then.
Didn't even bother to watch the game, knew they were going to get stomped. They love to snuff out hope, they are the Supreme Leader Snoke of the NFL.

On the Oakland/ Dallas game - it was astounding that a multi billion dollar organization had no better way to measure a first down than stick a folded over piece of paper between the ball and stick.
No, he's just a pissy PERSON, or has Resting Bitch Face at best. Trust me, he's not much happier with the press after a win. Just doesn't see value in the press stuff, and pretty obvious contempt. Wants it over with so he can get back to work, mostly. Only time Bill lets up on that is when he gets asked stuff about football history, or retired players or something. He's entertaining and knowledgeable then. Just during the weekly stuff, considers it a waste of time and doesn't want to say ANYTHING that another team could use to their advantage. Even though most are too stupid to do so even if you DID let something slip.
What you don't see from him is a meandering rant where he blames everyone else, lays out cheating accusations and then backs off of them when pressed for examples or proof, saying it's not fair because of weather, or layout of the stadium relative to the parking lot, or that the NFL-provided headsets or tablets failed, or whatever.

The bottom line on "the TD that wasn't" is that those are the rules. A receiver must demonstrate full possession through his contact with the ground for a pass to be considered "complete." In this case, that was not done, as the ball was loose upon contact with the ground.
All this discussion going on about "crossing the plane" is moot because the receiver had not established himself with possession, and therefore was not a "runner" by the rules. Crossing the plane only counts for established runners (RB's who have taken a handoff, QB's who are running / bootlegging / etc, or receivers who caught the ball, demonstrated possession and a "football move" and therefore BECAME a runner).
At first , I thought it was kind of stupid, until I realized that the rule exists primarily because the NFL is a "down by contact" league (unlike college and HS). If the receiver had caught the ball in the field on the 47 yard line and this exact same thing had happened, it would have been an incomplete pass. Period. It wouldn't have been complete, and the receiver wouldn't have been been able to get up and advance the ball either. So, he can't score under those same circumstances. The fact that he was on the goalie when he made the catch is immaterial
No possession = not a runner = no "breaking the plane" rule = no TD
