Well for every Rings of Power there is a Fallout, Invincible, Hazbin Hotel, and The Boys.Interest piqued, but do not trust Amazon not to fuck it up because it’s…well, Amazon. We live in hope, though.

Good enough. This is Amazon. We'll get 8 episodes, max.
Ted Lasso got away with the word "Wanker", which I think is a better insult.Though I wouldn't object to an SG team member from the British military calling everyone "cunts."

For all of O'Neill's witty putdowns of the Goa'uld, nothing would top the sort of insults a Cockney could come up with. Or for that matter, the average British teenager. With Brad Wright involved, it'll probably be PG or PG-13, as that was the kind of show he always wanted the Stargate franchise to be and was against Showtime's attempts in the early years to make SG-1 more adult, like the nudity in the pilot episode. Maybe they'll push the envelope a bit more from what they had in the TV shows, the SG-1 DVD movies for example did include profanity which SyFy wouldn't have approved of, but I don't think we're going to see the sort of things in this new Stargate which are commonplace on The Boys.

I like the idea of a public program, perhaps opening with an attack on Earth, a very public defence, and then a revelation of the existence of the stargate program to the world, then going from there, would set it aside from earlier entries and allow it to be its own thing while retaining something new. You could even open that as a "10 years ago" or even "20 years ago" documentary style (when it airs it will have been about 20 years since "Air", which was the last time we *know* the gate was still secret), and thus moving onto a new generation who have dealt with the knowledge since being in school. Hell make the revelation happen in 2010 with the Aschen, and while it appeared to be successful and all went quiet, now in 2030 something else is cropping up and it's time for the next generation to handle it.
They could definitely use a General as a character and Sam would be a great option, even if she doesn't appear as often as Hammond.trying to think what actors could potentially come back.
RDA I think is unlikely, he's retired and hasn't acted in anything since 2013. Even if he did Jack would be past retirement age so he'd just be a civilian anyways.
Amanda Tapping still occasionally acts, but mostly focuses on directing and producing. She has said recently she'd be willing to come back though. Sam could be a General, or have taken an early retirement, she'd be in her late 50s.
Michael Shanks and Christopher Judge are still acting. Daniel would be in his early 60s, Teal'c would be.. old.
IDK how you feel about physical media, but the remastered blu-rays are of excellent quality. A big step up from the DVDs and all 3 series' are in one big set from VEI.The only that sucks about this for me is that I never got to finish Atlantis or even start Destiny because it was aired at odd times here in the Netherlands and is not available for free streaming here, unless I buy subscriptions on Amazon. Hopefully this means those shows will become part of the standard Amazon prime streaming package and I can finish them before this starts.
