New StarGate series Prime Video.

I hope so, because
trying to think what actors could potentially come back.

RDA I think is unlikely, he's retired and hasn't acted in anything since 2013. Even if he did Jack would be past retirement age so he'd just be a civilian anyways.

Amanda Tapping still occasionally acts, but mostly focuses on directing and producing. She has said recently she'd be willing to come back though. Sam could be a General, or have taken an early retirement, she'd be in her late 50s.

Michael Shanks and Christopher Judge are still acting. Daniel would be in his early 60s, Teal'c would be.. old.
Unless something has changed, they need to have at least one character from the movie in the pilot episode.

Daniel is the obvious choice I'd think.

Dean Devlin and Roland Emmerich are EPs. I don’t know how I feel about that.

Probably just collecting a paycheck and maybe rebuilding credibility. There's zero chance they get to make anything in Hollywood after ID4: Resurgence and Moonfall bombed. So I bet they need the money.

I didn't think that was a requirement -- I figured it's just the usual thing for a spinoff to have a character from the original show up to pass the torch (e.g. McCoy in TNG's pilot, Picard in DS9's pilot, Quark in VGR's pilot, Zefram Cochrane in ENT's pilot).

And there is one Stargate series that had no movie characters in its pilot or any other episode, namely Stargate Infinity. Yes, it's retroactively considered non-canonical, but it was still an officially produced Stargate TV series, so if there had been some contractual or legal requirement to include movie characters in every sequel/spinoff pilot, there's no reason the animated series would've been excluded.

I don't know about Roland Emmerich, but Dean Devlin has executive-produced quite a few TV series in recent years, including both Leverage series, the Librarians franchise, The Outpost, Almost Paradise, and The Ark.

It's not true that one or two failures will end a creator's career, because nobody bats a thousand. A creator with a good overall track record will still be able to get work after the occasional flop. Heck, Steven Spielberg followed up Jaws and Close Encounters with the colossal bomb 1941, but he still got to make Raiders of the Lost Ark and E.T. afterward.

I’m also surprised it’s not a reboot.
So might not be too hands on he's currently got The Ark which has S3 coming out next (though it's probably the final season).

Just spitballing, but a good revival could start with Atlantis returning to Pegasus via the wormhole driver, but accidentally end up in a new galaxy. Lets you start with a blank slate, but keep the structure of the early seasons of Atlantis.
I think it'd be a longshot that the primary setting will be anywhere we've seen before (the SGC, Atlantis, or Destiny), they seem to like giving every series a unique visual flavor. I remember when Wright was talking about his pandemic pitch, part of it was an Earth-built stargate that would do some kind of rapid-firing dialing thing to spare them from "romancing the gate" with long technical dialing sequences (but I love dialing sequences...). In the Gateworld video, Gero (IIRC) mentioned that fifteen years of technological advancement would afford them a lot more visual scope, so there could be brief scenes set in old locations using LED walls and greenscreens, but I'd expect whatever the premise (possibly another take on the "isolated team" concept) the key location and probably the stargate itself will have an all new visual design.

Infinity aired from September 2002 to March 2003, by an interview in July 2002, prior to Infinitys debut, Brad Wright was already stating in interviews it wasnt canonical -

GW: More importantly, should it be regarded as official Stargate canon, or should we treat it as an entertaining romp through an alternate universe, which has no impact on the live-action stuff?

BW: The latter. By the way, I don’t have a problem with it. I’m just not involved.

As I already said, its canon status is beside the point here. After all, the three Stargate TV series are themselves in a different continuity to the movie. It's Jack O'Neill instead of O'Neil, it's Cheyenne Mountain instead of Creek Mountain, Catherine Langford is American instead of English, the Goa'uld are wormy parasites instead of humanoid aliens, etc. So if the shows were under some contractual requirement relative to the movie, it would still apply regardless of continuity.

Almost, one of the actors from the film re-praised his role in the pilot. And the series kept David Arnold's theme music.

Changes do happen in even actual same universe shows. "Matlock", for example, had a spin-off series starring William Conrad, called "Jake and the Fatman", with a character from "Matlock" crossing over to that show. In the episode it spun off of, Conrad's character name was McShane, in the back-door pilot its McCabe.

The only that sucks about this for me is that I never got to finish Atlantis or even start Destiny because it was aired at odd times here in the Netherlands and is not available for free streaming here, unless I buy subscriptions on Amazon. Hopefully this means those shows will become part of the standard Amazon prime streaming package and I can finish them before this starts.

....Only for the first season, due to his failing health. And really, a lot of "his" decisions in the first season were actually those of his lawyer and handlers...
Multiple sources said he had input up through TNG's 3rd Season.

When what became Best Of Both Worlds was pitched GR himself said "No" to it. But at some point prior to the actual time a decision needed to be made - GR was hospitalized and the person who took over for him and the rest of the TNG production staff besides to go ahead with it.

I doubt any legacy actors will come back for a major role. The occasional cameo, sure. I imagine all the SG1 cast would be willing to make an appearance if the story is right.
