New SGU Trailer *MAJOR SPOILERS*

Can a trailer be considered a "MAJOR SPOILER"?
Wow that looked pretty good, several great fx shots in there too. Seeing the Destiny pic the other day I thought the front of the ship was the wide part, now it looks like that is the back.

Horrible line delivery by RDA on the "we'll beam you up to our......... spaceship" line.

Whoa, THAT was RDA at the beginning? I thought it was nameless general 101.

Heh, aging of Actors aside, That. Looked. Amazing. Where the hell did they get the budget for all those actors, plus all that *amazing* effects from? Stargate has always been a bit ropey round the edges, but, blimey, I can kinda see how they netted some of the bigger actors now.

This has jumped up on my radar. Cant wait for this :D

The more I see of Carlyle's character, the more intrigued I am.

This is looking better by the day.

A darker more character driven serialized Stargate? I'm totally onboard with that concept. But I still have doubts that the writing staff are bringing enough originality to the show. Particularly when I keep hearing about SG-1 and SGA crossovers and what not.

Well, the fact that RC was in it in the first place guaranteed that the series would at least get a look from me.

The trailer intrigues me.

Looked more like a darker more serialized Voyager. Looked pretty good, i'll definitely watch it.

I'm kinda interested to see why they were fleeing what appears to be a death guilder attack. Have the Jaffa gone mad or are the Goa'uld back in town:devil:.
The new gate looks like a never seen Ori version of the old girl...interesting.

Remember, the Ori don't have regular stargates per se - they DO have a version of the ring transport technology which apparently can get you from planet to planet, though, and the huge intergalactic gates. The big rings are all Lantean / Ancient.

There's a big article on Gateworld linking to an explanation of how the Destiny gate works. I like the return to a practical turning gate, something the Atlantis system lacked (probably for budgetary reasons on the new show, but still missed).

That's actually kinda cool. I'm still hoping it won't be a BSG-with-stargate, but at least the ship looks good.

I'm definitely getting a Voyager vibe.

We never saw one, but it stands to reason the Ori have regular-sized stargates. We saw the first Priors arrive by stargate, and they used a stargate to send the pieces of the supergate through. Now, we know that stargates of different sizes can connect, but I don't think it's too likely they used a supergate to dial personnel stargates and got the Priors to the Milky Way by kicking them out of airlocks and into the supergate.
