My problem isn't that they didn't close down classes, it's that they closed down fun activities (a concert yesterday and a bus ride and tickets to a baseball game tonight). There's an odd mix of hypochondria and hypocrisy going on.
No confirmed cases in Oregon yet, but we have a couple of suspected cases. One is a student at Western Oregon, so they decided to close the university until Tuesday to be safe.

Major Woody said:Came home from work yesterday to find a message on the home phone. Robo-call from the school district to advise me that now that there has been one single confirmed case of the flu in our entire county, that so far there have been none in the district and we should tell our kids to sneeze into a tissue, wash their hands frequently etc etc etc and that the schools were safe.
